30.12.2011 Dima Kobzev completed 8 cycles of photopheresis and GVHD situation had improved. He was allowed to go home and will return for photopheresis in March.

30.12.2011 Nastia Pogrebnaya recovered after transplantation and is now in cytopenia. She receives daily blood transfusions. She has no fever, but developed severe mucositis and was transferred in IV nutrition.

30.12.2011 Alena Azup received a first cycle of chemotherapy under RIST regimen. She is now in cytopenia.

30.12.2011 Roma Ignatovich feels well. He is being monitored as a day patient. Hospitalization for pre-transplantation chemotherapy is scheduled for January 2nd.

30.12.2011 Serezha Popov fell and bumped his head. Since he had very low blood counts, he formed hematomas in his brain and had seizures. Infusions of donor's lymphocytes are postponed.

29.12.2011 Elena Plis's results of puncture as of December 19th are good. Her broken toe healed. Elena is continuing to take tacrolimus. Based on test results, she has issues with liver and prescribed ursofalk. Bone osteoporosis was also diagnosed. An x-ray of my lungs was normal.

29.12.2011 Mom of Masha Bolokhova, who recently passed away, asked our fund to remove Masha's information from the site. At her request, we are taking Masha's page offline.

27.12.2011 Igor Karev was already discharged from the Clinical hospital of Russian Science Academy and he flew with his father to Krasnodar for the holidays. His hemoglobin count is up, and although platelets are still somewhat low, he feels better with every day. On January 9th Igor is expected to be back at Berezin Center for another cycle of chemotherapy.

27.12.2011 Kolya Burov has died.

26.12.2011 In early January Sasha Novokreschenov will come to St. Petersburg for planned tests.

26.12.2011 Serezha Popov is sick with a sinus infection and was prescribed antibiotics: clindamycin, meropenem and tavanic. He was planned to undergo additional donor's stem cell infusion, but we got news from the international registry that his donor is expecting a baby and it makes harvesting of cells impossible. Further treatment is under discussion.

26.12.2011 Angelina Garanina is continuing the 3rd cycle of chemotherapy. The doctors believe that her stomach bleeding was unrelated to chemotherapy and was instead caused by a viral infection. Angelina feels rather well. In January she will undergo complete evaluation to check for possible metastases. Based on results, further treatment will be determined.

26.12.2011 Stas Vasiliev is undergoing another cycle of chemotherapy. He feels well. There are now holiday celebrations at the hospital for the little patients, and Stas enjoys participating in them and practicing rhymes for the Father Frost.

25.12.2011 Marina Devyatkova came in for another cycle of photopheresis. She feels well.

25.12.2011 Dasha Nekozyreva came in for planned tests. She feels well and continues taking hormonal therapy and Gleevec in low doses to treat chronic skin GVHD.

25.12.2011 Daria Lysenko feels rather well and she is in sustained remission. She is now on maintenance therapy (Methotrexate and Purinethol). She has some cardiac issues and was prescribed appropriate therapy. A donor was not found yet.

25.12.2011 Konstantin Korytov is now at the hospital where he is receiving another blood transfusion due to low hemoglobin. He feels OK overall, but really needs Exjade medication. A donor was not found yet.

25.12.2011 Dina Zvereva feels OK and she is now at home. The next chemotherapy cycle will start on January 2nd. A donor was not found yet.

25.12.2011 Petr Grigoriev feels rather well and receives maintenance therapy: infusions of medications at the hospital once a month. A donor was not found yet.

25.12.2011 On December 17th Svetlana Kotova underwent bone marrow transplantation. She did not tolerate it well, but is now recovering gradually. She is in cytopenia for now.

25.12.2011 Lubov Subbotina feels OK, but has elevated temperature. She is now undergoing evaluation at R. Gorbacheva Institute. A donor was found, and transplantation is scheduled for January 26th. We urgently need to pay off the debt to the S. Morsch registry (13,000 euros) and find additional 2500 euros for delivery of transplant.

25.12.2011 Marusya Lee feels well and receives replacement therapy with Aldurazyme. There were interruptions of drug delivery to state orders, and Marusya parents had to buy it themselves. She now has enough medication to last until end of January, and there is hope it will again be available for free. A donor search is ongoing.

25.12.2011 As Sasha Agapitov has hypofunctioning transplant, it was decided to perform planned donor's lymphocyte infusion. Delivery of lymphocytes and their infusion are planned for January 12th. We urgently need help with paying for their delivery (2500 euros).

25.12.2011 Oleg Pershikov's transplantation was scheduled for January 19th. Oleg needs urgent help with paying for transplant delivery.

25.12.2011 Unfortunately, Igor Mishin had a relapse. He is now undergoing anti-relapse chemotherapy cycle at Gorbacheva Institute. Repeat transplantation of bone marrow is preliminarily scheduled for January 19th. We are waiting for the bill from the registry to cover another harvesting of bone marrow from the same donor. Urgent help is needed to cover transplant delivery costs.

25.12.2011 Veronika Nikulina had a relapse. She is now at the hospital (Gorbacheva Pediatric Hematology & Transplantation Institute). Veronica does not feel very well. She started the first chemotherapy cycle.

25.12.2011 Lera Bryukhacheva finished the second cycle of chemotherapy. She tolerated it worse than the first one. Her blood counts dropped, and her platelet count is low. But the tumor lesion in Lera's liver shrank to 1.5 cm, based on control ultrasound.

25.12.2011 Zhenya Derenchuk really enjoyed the holiday celebrations at the hospital. The doctors allowed him to come out to the hall several times a day and attend celebrations at the game room. For neck support, he was purchased a Shantz collar and Zhenya tried it on today. Zhenya's dad will come to visit him in January during his vacation and will spend the whole month with him. Zhenya cannot wait to see his dad.

25.12.2011 Based on histology results, there are a few live cells in Nika Baranova's removed lesion, which means chemotherapy needs to continue. Nika feels rather well already and had recovered after the surgery.

25.12.2011 Based on results of planned tests, Iliya Boiko was taken off Vfend. Chemotherapy is proceeding according to the plan.

25.12.2011 Danya Lutokhin completed another cycle of chemotherapy and is now recovering. He feels rather well.

25.12.2011 Varya Vlasova's liver indicators were heightened despite liver protecting drugs. She is now getting better as her liver recovers. She is in remission.

25.12.2011 Fedya Bolshukhin feels well. His pneumonia was taken under control. On December 19th he enjoyed participating at the holiday celebration at the hospital. Chemotherapy is continuing according to the protocol.

25.12.2011 Konstantin Shushlin feels relatively well. He is now on high-dose hormonal therapy and his blood sugar is high. He gets insulin, but has general fatigue and weakness. Konstantin still needs Vfend and Cellsept.

25.12.2011 Igor Karev's tumor is responding well to chemotherapy, but his blood counts plummeted and he was hospitalized at St. Petersburg's Clinical hospital for blood transfusions (the Berezin Center does not yet has a license for blood transfusions).

24.12.2011 Anastasia Maloryan has a relapse. Anti-relapse chemotherapy will be administered at the Blokhin Russian Oncology Research Institute in Moscow.

24.12.2011 Lesha Nesterenko has died.

19.12.2011 Ivan Morozov has died.

19.12.2011 Unfortunately, Alesha Laptev's transplant from a donor did not engraft. On December 6th he underwent a second bone marrow transplantation. He is still in cytopenia. On December 20th Alesha will have a puncture that will help evaluate transplantation results. Lesha feels relatively well. His temperature is normal, but his blood pressure is high. He receives Vfend and Ampholip to treat fungal infection in his lungs.

19.12.2011 Lera Sukhoverkhova is at the day patient facility getting maintenance chemotherapy and Vfend. There are no blasts in the peripheral blood. If blast counts in the bone marrow increase Lera will be administered another anti-relapse chemotherapy course, and if her condition remains stable she will be on maintenance therapy until the middle of January and then in January a haploidentical transplantation from her mother will be performed.

18.12.2011 Based on the last CT scan, Sasha Obertyuk still has lesions on both kidneys and several lesions in his lungs. On December 6th he started chemotherapy. On the 4th day of chemo, his condition worsened: he had acute kidney failure and toxic hepatitis. By now, blood biochemistry had improved, although Sasha still has fatigue, neuropathy, dizziness and unstable blood pressure. Sasha is optimistic, as usual, and he makes plans for the future.

18.12.2011 Lera Bychkova and her mother are back in Germany; the next antibody therapy course begins tomorrow.

18.12.2011 Misha Stepanov is still being examined since the doctors are not sure that the newly found neoformation is malignant and is a relapse. Also there is no final decision as to what kind of therapy is best for the boy. Blood counts are normal, Misha is feeling fine.

18.12.2011 Vika Gladinets had a Dacogen treatment course and is now administered maintenance chemotherapy with low doses of Cytozar and Purinethol. The levels of minimal residual disease became lower, but the skin GVH reaction got worse, so Vika is now on hormones. The girl also needs Noxafil for antifungal therapy. Vika is feeling ok.

18.12.2011 Natalia Kharatishvili had another maintenance chemotherapy course, based on the examination results she has a stable remission. Unfortunately a fungal infection was found in her lungs, so Vfend was prescribed. The final decision on the antifungal therapy will be made after the consultation at the Mycology Research Institute. Natalia is feeling ok. The donor has not been found yet.

18.12.2011 Anya Andreeva came to the Raisa Gorbacheva Institute of Children's Hematology and Transplantology for an examination and another photopheresis course. Her basic disease is in remission. Anya is feeling fine, but the skin GVH reaction has gotten a bit worse. The girl still needs Noxafil.

18.12.2011 Andrei Ezhov is on home schooling, he is feeling fine. The boy is under the hematologists' control, his blood counts are too low so far and he gets colds all the time.

18.12.2011 Vika Smirnova was prescribed a high dose chemotherapy course. The first block was very hard for Vika, she had a high fever and a severe intoxication. Now Vika is feeling better, and most importantly, she responds to the treatment: the tumor became twice smaller and there are no new foci. The girl is now administered the next chemotherapy course.

18.12.2011 Nino Utiashvili went home and will continue with the rehabilitation course in her home town. The girl's leg is functioning better, she can bend her knee and hip joint. Nino can now walk. The basic disease is in remission. Nino is to come for an examination in the middle of February.

18.12.2011 Yulia Kolomeets's basic disease is ok but neurological problems are still there, and from time to time she has tachycardia. Yulia mostly feels feels fine.

15.12.2011 Zhenya Zavorotynsky's transplantation took place as scheduled, on December 1. Zhenya is now recovering. For now he has severe mucositis with damage to his mouth, fever, fatigue and pains. Blood counts are increasing gradually. Yesterday Zhenya was allowed to leave the room and walk along the hall for the first time.

15.12.2011 Ivan Buitov completed chemotherapy and started maintenance regimen: 5-day chemotherapy with 3-week break. He is now at the Regional hospital where he is recovering after the last cycle. He is in remission, but still needs Noxafil. A donor was not found yet. Ivan feels rather well.

14.12.2011 Marat Bugulov is being monitored by hematologists locally. His blood counts are still low. A few days ago he got fever and he is now hospitalized at Vladikavkaz oncology center with suspected pneumonia. He also has mild skin GVHD. In addition, Marat needs to continue Vfend therapy.

14.12.2011 Ira Nikonova is continuing Peg-Intron and Zometa therapy (both medications are purchased by AdVita fund). She feels well and had adjusted to Peg-Intron. She has some pain in her leg.

14.12.2011 Igor Karev is undergoing a second cycle of chemotherapy. He is improving. Igor feels much better. Please help him with paying for the treatment.

12.12.2011 Igor Kryukov's therapy with bendamustine is being postponed due to high transaminase in blood. Igor is receiving appropriate therapy. Based on PET, he has a progression.

12.12.2011 Larisa Mashevskaya is showing increasing symptoms of multiple organ failure and veno-occlusive hepatic disease. She is now on a ventilator in a critical condition.

12.12.2011 Nastia Agapitova had a progression. She lost a lot of weight and is fatigued. As soon as Nastia's condition allows, she will undergo chemotherapy with Natulan.

12.12.2011 Based on CT of lungs, Vladimir Gaivoronsky has improvement, but he still needs to continue therapy with Vfend. He is now receiving chemotherapy under Mabthera + Ribomustine regimen. He feels rather well.

12.12.2011 Vika Polukhina came to St. Petersburg for control tests. She had a surgery to remove needles at Pediatric Academy and now needs to undergo rehabilitation that has to be paid for.

12.12.2011 Konstantin Shushlin recovered after transplantation and was discharged for day hospital. He is in a satisfactory condition, although he is fatigued and has mild skin GVHD. He was prescribed Vfend.

12.12.2011 In November 2011 Dima Yablochkov had a relapse. Currently, Dima is undergoing anti-relapse chemotherapy at R. Gorbacheva Pediatric Hematology & Transplantation Institute.

12.12.2011 Vladimir Maslennikov was hospitalized at Almazov Federal Center. If his brother is a good match based on typing results, he will become a donor, and Volodya will undergo urgent transplantation. Vfend is still needed.

12.12.2011 Anya Marchenko was diagnosed with new fungal lesions in her lungs, she was prescribed Noxafil. We are now in talks with the manufacturer of drug SGN35 regarding its import to Russia for Anya's treatment.

12.12.2011 Chemotherapy for Denis Vasilashko went well, without complications. Transplantation was scheduled for December 16th.

09.12.2011 Lera Bychkova is now at home. She is resting between therapy cycles. A cycle of antibodies was extremely difficult: all of her muscles were affected, and Lera almost completely lost vision. She is now much better, and on December 18th she will return to the clinic with her mom.

09.12.2011 Andro Nozadze and Masha Vartsan have died.

08.12.2011 Irina Prikhodko's hormonal therapy doses are being gradually reduced. Irina still has pain in her joints, as well as tachycardia and high blood pressure. Recently she got another issue - acute thromboflembitis, and her leg is swelling. Additional therapy was prescribed. Irina's mood is good. Irina's husband and children plan to visit her for the New Year.

07.12.2011 On January 5th Egor Moskalenko and his mom will fly to Israel, and the surgery is scheduled for the January 9th. Jazz and Classics fund will issue funds for Yegor's January trip.

03.12.2011 Stas Evdokimov now has medications for treatment of hepatitis for 2 months. He lost 7 kg and does not eat well. His blood counts are unstable.

02.12.2011 Kirill Vazhenin and his mom returned home until February 2012. Kirill feels well. He brought 3-month supply of Revlimid with him.

30.11.2011 Timur Rudyko is finishing another cycle of anti-relapse chemotherapy and his blood counts are starting to go down. He feels rather well, but is tired of the hospitals, treatments and is not very happy. A donor was not found yet.

29.11.2011 Nadya Chernoknizhnaya is continuing treatment in the US. The doctors are happy with the treatment and they decided to continue chosen chemotherapy. Nadya is in a good mood. The next MRI is planned in 3 months.

29.11.2011 Slava Zhikharenko's tumor volume had decreased significantly. Slava now needs to get over bronchitis and then the is planned to undergo chemotherapy with ribomustine and revlimid. The drugs cost close to 300,000 rubles. Please help!

29.11.2011 Volodya Telegin will start pre-transplantation chemotherapy with Tepadina. A permit to import this medication is being processed. We expect a bill for the medication shortly. The drug will cost close to 8,000 euros.

29.11.2011 Egor Moskalenko returned from the clinic in Israel. A tracheostomy was not removed, but the number of papillomas was reduced. The next surgery is scheduled for January 9th, and Yegor needs to be at the clinic on January 5th. The surgery and injection of cidofovir will cost close to 6,000 euros. Egor's family needs to purchase the tickets by December 9th. They cost $850.

28.11.2011 Olga Shmygleva completed the first cycle under the recommended regimen (bendamustine + revlimid). She had many side effects from revlimid and for now, she will continue treatment with bendamustine only. The next cycle will start on December 7. In general, Olga feels OK, except for weight loss, low blood pressure and low hemoglobin. She is continuing search for a clinical trial.

27.11.2011 Karina Kosareva is in complete remission. Her blood counts are good, but she has increased symptoms of skin and mouth GVHD. She was prescribed hormonal therapy and felt better. Photopheresis is also planned. Control puncture and CT scan are planned for early December.

27.11.2011 Nikita Burenkov feels well. He is in remission, based on control puncture. GVHD is under control. Nikita still needs Vfend.

27.11.2011 Katya Yastrebova was diagnosed with progression of her disease. Due to hardening of the bone tissue she has pains in her back. Repeat transplantation from her mother is planned for right after the New Year. Katyusha is now taking Exjade and Vfend, and she also needs transfusions from time to time.

27.11.2011 Arina Baboshina will undergo repeat transplantation from her father. Transplantation is planned for January. Arisha feels well. Although her blood counts are low, she is not yet receiving blood transfusions. She still needs Noxafil and Exjade.

27.11.2011 Gleb Kalinyuk is now at home where he receives maintenance chemotherapy in pills and goes for planned tests. He is in remission and feels very well. Gleb grew much taller. Noxafil was canceled and Gleb is taking mycosyst. A donor was not found yet.

27.11.2011 Roma Aseev is still at the hospital: he had a second wave of intestinal GVHD and is on immunosuppressive drugs again. The second time Roma received donor's bone marrow from his father. His blood counts started growing and are close to normal now. Vfend is still needed.

26.11.2011 Anya Burilova is continuing immunosuppressive therapy. Skin GVHD is not yet controlled. The doctors recommended equine therapy to her. A trainer for Anya was found, and she cannot wait to start. Please help Anya's family with paying for the sessions.

26.11.2011 Asel Panabergenova was allowed to go home for 2-3 months. A donor was not found yet.

20.11.2011 Zhenya Vasilenko's latest examination at Turner Institute confirmed drastic worsening. Now Zhenya's joints are in such a bad shape that any movement can cause fracture and constant pains have drained him. He applied for a quota for the government funded surgery in November 2010. It has been a year, but it never got approved. The cost of the surgery is being verified, but it could amount to several hundred thousand rubles. Please help!

He was transferred to ICU due to breathing difficulty caused by accumulation of fluid in his pleura (hydrothorax) where he had pleural puncture. Based on bone marrow puncture, blast percentage is slightly above norm (5.8%). Transplantation is preliminarily scheduled for the end of November.

10.11.2011 Unfortunately, Larisa Mashevskaya's transplant from a donor did not engraft according to the results of control tests. She recovered with her own cells. In a week, she is planned to undergo a second bone marrow transplantation from the donor.

08.11.2011 On October 27th Nastia Agapitova was hospitalized in a serious condition after an epileptic seizure. She felt better at the hospital and on November 3rd she was discharged. On October 1 she started the 3rd cycle of chemotherapy with etoposide. Control MRI is scheduled for November 22nd and will cost 11,000 rubles. PET with methionine is scheduled for November 25th and will cost 16,000 rubles. Please help us with paying for the tests.

She still suffers from chronic bronchitis and medical hepatitis, her hemoglobin count goes down from time to time and she receives periodic blood transfusions.

30.10.2011 Katya Yastrebova is monitored as a day patient. She feels rather well, but periodically has pain in her spine. Transplantation was not scheduled yet. Katya's mom is asking for help with buying diapers and wipes. Vfend is also still needed.

30.10.2011 It has been 100 days since Igor Kechkin's transplant. Control puncture showed that donor's bone marrow engrafted fully and works well. Unfortunately, viral infection causes destruction of peripheral leukocyte cells, and Igor needs continuing therapy with Leukostim and immunoglobulins.

30.10.2011 Olga Kelina was discharged home for 1.5 months. Based on bone marrow puncture, donor's chimerism is 80%, and blood counts are normal. Olya feels rather well. She still needs Mycosyst and prograf.

30.10.2011 Milana Kuzhenova is already at home. Her control tests are scheduled for December - January. She continues taking hormones, but in very small doses, for prevention of skin GVHD. She takes Cortef as replacement therapy. She also still takes Noxafil.

He has significant improvement with skin GVHD and skin on his feet almost completely healed. Zakhar is in remission and his blood counts are normal. He feels rather well. 30.10.2011 Ramil Bulatov came in for planned hospitalization for 9th cycle of photopheresis. He is in remission and his blood counts are normal. He still needs to take Vfend and calcium medications: zometa, miacalcic and fosamax. He feels rather well.

30.10.2011 Irina Prikhodko developed acute GVHD reaction again. As soon as doctors start lowering the doses of hormonal therapy, it starts all over again. She has joint pains (it is hard for her to walk), tachycardy and high blood pressure, but Irina is in a good mood and ready to fight.

29.10.2011 Amir Shataev underwent tests in University Clinic in Essen: one of the tumors disappeared and another stayed the same size. There are no new tumors! Kolya was urgently hospitalized in ICU. He was prescribed albumin, anti-virals and antibiotcs, and receives blood transfusions. He is in a critical condition.

22.10.2011 Shedi Buneb is studying in the 2nd grade with other kids, but with an extra day off as he gets very tired. He feels well and the tests done in early October at Oncology Research Institute showed that everything is well. The next round of tests is scheduled for January.

She was examined at Mycology Research Institute, and the dose of Vfend was kept the same.

22.10.2011 Natalia Kharatishvili feels rather well. She is not getting fever anymore and her mood had improved. She is in sustained remission.

22.10.2011 Marina Devyatkova was in for planned tests and a course of photopheresis. She feels well and is now back at home. The next round of tests is scheduled for mid-December.

22.10.2011 Diana Vaschenko's brain tumor has not shrank much, but it has not grown either. It was decided to interrupt medication intake until November. In November Diana and her mom will come in for scheduled tests. A dose and schedule of cladribine will be prescribed for Diana. She will probably need help with buying it.

22.10.2011 Nino Utiashvili finished full course of treatment and was discharged in remission. She was recommended to have a consultation at the specialists in Turner Institute, as she still has issues with bending her leg. She is now resting in a rehabilitation center in Olgino. Control tests at Oncology Research Institute are scheduled for mid-November. After the tests, Nino and her mom plan to go home, and return for evaluations every 3 months.

22.10.2011 Based on scheduled tests, Ira Nikonova is well. Ira was prescribed a pack of Zometa and 4 packs of Peg-Intron monthly for 3 years. She cannot receive these medications for free.

22.10.2011 Grisha Bakhvalov feels well, although he catches colds often. In addition, he has to take anti-histamines constantly. Grisha had evaluation at ophthalmologist and it showed that Grisha's vision is unlikely to improve as he has scarring and retinal dystrophy. Grisha started 1st grade and he receives individual lessons.

22.10.2011 Vika Smirnova feels much better. Epidural catheter and drainage were removed and she no longer needs painkillers. Vika is now at home. On October 24th the date of transplantation will be decided.

22.10.2011 Egor Moskalenko's evaluation is scheduled for November 11th, and on November 14th he will undergo surgery to remove breathing tube. Egor's mom managed to raise money for the surgery.

22.10.2011 Lera Bychkova underwent tests: MRI, MIBG and bone marrow biopsy. Part of the lesions is gone and the others decreased in size. Lera needs to complete RIST chemotherapy, and then bone marrow transplantation followed by antibody therapy. There is no new treatment bill yet. Lera feels much better.

22.10.2011 Based on PET-CT scan, Kolya Markov has tumor progression with growth into nerve tissues and spread to the other leg. Unfortunately, chemotherapy is ineffective. Kolya is being monitored by hospice doctors. Kolya has fever and practically does not eat. During weekend he was allowed to go home. On Monday Kolya will return to the hospice.

22.10.2011 Anya Golubyatnikova has died.

21.10.2011 For Irina Redkova it's now 55 days past the transplantation. Everything is fine. There are over 95% of donor cells in the bone marrow. Blood test revealed a cytomegalovirus, Irina has been administered a course of Cymevene, now she's on Valcyte and Cyclosporine.

21.10.2011 Sanzhima Lodoeva has had another chemotherapy couse, she's feleing fine.

20.10.2011 Ksenia Yakovenko has the whole sum needed for the surgery raised. We only need to raise another 1,000 euros for the medical examination. The surgery has been scheduled for November 8.

20.10.2011 Roma Aseev's condition is getting stable: thanks to the photopheresis the signs of a skin GVH reaction have disappeared, and thanks to Campath and Cellsept signs of the stomach and intestinal GVH reaction are almost gone too, and Roma was allowed to eat regular food. Roma is feeling ok but is very weak. The boy needs Cellsept, Entocort and intravenous Vfend all the time.

20.10.2011 Arthur Geroev is now administered pre-transplantation chemotherapy. Transplantation has been scheduled for October 26. Arthur is feeling fine and is in a good mood, the therapy is going well.

19.10.2011 Dima Ustinov has died.

19.10.2011 Nikita Burenkov turned seven! He is feeling fine. His basic disease is in remission, Nikita is administered therapy against skin GVH reaction as well as Vfend.

19.10.2011 The biopsy for Nika Baranova was postponed for a month, and now Nika is administered another chemotherapy course based on the protocol. Nika is feeling ok.

19.10.2011 Varya Vlasova has finished the main treatment course and is now going to have maintenance chemotherapy administered in her home town. Varya's mother refused to have a bone marrow transplantation performed.

19.10.2011 Kolya Burov does not meet the criteria to participate in the clinical trials in Wurzburg, but for a pay he was offered SGN35 therapy (Brentuximab). At present is administered Afinitor that inhibits tumor cells growth. Brentuximab has been ordered. The clinic will recalculate expenses and issue a new invoice. One course of SGN35 treatment is estimated at 8,000 euros, all in all there will have to be at least 8 courses. Also, Kolya needs help in paying for the rented apartment. The boy's condition is stable but he's still very weak.

14.10.2011 Vika Smirnova had her tumor removed on October 6. The surgery was very complicated and large scale. On the seventh day after the surgery the ultrasound showed that the whole of the tumor had been removed and everything is fine. The doctors' decision was to start preparing Vika for a haploidentical bone marrow transplantation.

14.10.2011 Nika Baranova had a radioisotopic examination and magnetic resonance imaging of the tumor performed. MRT showed that the tumor had decreased in size a little, but the radioisotopic examination testifies to a significant improvement. The decisive factor for determining further treatment plan will be a biopsy scheduled for October 19.

12.10.2011 Marina Alyushina is feeling fine. On October 13 she is seeing a pulmonologist, October 24 is a follow-up puncture and lung CT is scheduled for end of October. Marina will have to take Vfend until May 2012.

30.09.2011 Egor Moskalenko's surgery went well. There were many papillomas, but all of them were removed with a laser. Donor's bone marrow is working well, but due to an autoimmune process his platelets and red blood cells are being destroyed and he constantly needs transfusions of R-mass and plasma.

31.08.2011 Nika Baranova feels rather well and she was allowed to go for walks. As soon as she started another chemotherapy cycle, her problems with mucous tissue returned. Her family received the first bill for treatment for 99,960 rubles.

31.08.2011 Varya Vlasova is undergoing the 3rd chemotherapy cycle at Municipal hospital No.31. On August 22nd, bone marrow biopsy showed 2.5% of blast cells, and 3.3% of myeloblasts. Varya is now not feeling very well. She had a reaction to asparaginase, fever, cries a lot and is very cranky. She is also developing stomatitis. Varya eats very little. She was recommended nutrition Nistagen or Nutrilon Junior, 120 g every 3 hours.

31.08.2011 Vika Smirnova walks better, although she limps on her right foot. On August 25th she started a new chemotherapy cycle and she got intestinal problems right away. Vika developed severe farsightedness and got new glasses.

31.08.2011 Fedya Bolshukhin underwent five chemotherapy cycles after returning from Poland and he tolerated them well. He is now receiving weekly Vincristine infusions. During chemotherapy he developed neuropathy of both of his legs, and he was referred for physical therapy and massage.

31.08.2011 Olga Kelina is in 55th day post-BMT. She feels well. Donor's bone marrow engrafted completely and she is in remission in regards to primary diagnosis. She only needs help with buying Mycosyst.

31.08.2011 Zakhar Korpusov's condition improved, but he still has GVHD of skin and mouth. The next examination is in early September. He still needs Vfend, Cell-cept, Gleevec, Ursosan and Nutridrink.

31.08.2011 Sasha Obertyuk is now at home where he is undergoing maintenance therapy under the protocol. Once a week he goes for tests at the hospital. He can move around slowly with crutches. Sasha still has neuropathy, febrile fever, and problems with vision in his left eye. Vfend is still needed.

31.08.2011 Masha Vartsan returned to Burdenko Institute and her tumor was removed completely. She will now start radiation therapy.

31.08.2011 Igor Kechkin was hospitalized at R. Gorbacheva Pediatric Hematology & Transplantation Institute after his blood counts started to go down and he started feeling unwell. Based on test results, he has cytomegalovirus infection, but when he started therapy with cymevene, it turned out that he is allergic to it and therapy had to be canceled. While we are waiting for test results for other infections, Igor needs immunoglobulins in large doses.

31.08.2011 This year it has been 5 years since transplantation, and during review, Anton Terekhov's disability status was discontinued. He feels well and is getting ready to start 1st grade.

31.08.2011 Egor Moskalenko will fly to Israel to continue treatment. His treatment and lodging will be paid for by an anonymous donor, but to buy the air tickets the family needs $1370. Please help.

31.08.2011 Elena Plis passed 100 days since BMT. Bone marrow biopsy result is good. She had successful therapy for kidney dysfunction and low hemoglobin. She has no fungal lesions in her lungs.

30.08.2011 Sanzhima Lodoeva had an ultrasound - the results are good and improvement was seen. Ascites is now almost half of what she had before. Her treating doctor diagnosed inflammation in her kidneys and prescribed appropriate therapy. The 7th cycle of chemotherapy needs to be completed prior to September 8th. It means Sanzhima again needs to find 30,000 rubles for paclitera. Please help!

24.08.2011 Sanzhima Lodoeva's condition worsened - she has pains in her right side and periodically gets fever. She urgently needs to undergo tests for oncomarkers (total cost 1850 rubles). Sanzhima's family needs help to continue her treatment and pay apartment rent.

24.08.2011 Lera Bychkova underwent evaluation in Greifswald. Her bone marrow is cancer free and the number of active lesions went down significantly. Lera started chemotherapy under RIST regimen. Her blood counts are low, but she feels rather well.

24.08.2011 Volodya Telegin had a relapse. He is now receiving anti-relapse chemotherapy. He finished two cycles and has four more to go. Afterwards his stem cells will be harvested for autologous transplantation. Volodya's condition is serious and his blood counts are critically low.

24.08.2011 Kolya Markov feels better and started to walk a little. His pain is much lower now.

24.08.2011 Nino Utiashvili is not tolerating another cycle of chemotherapy very well. She needs actovegin in ampoules.

24.08.2011 Sasha Ustinov's blood counts are continuing to improve. There are no blasts. Sasha has gone without transfusions for two weeks already! Based on such a good response to purinethol and hydrea therapy, it was decided to increase the doses to therapeutic. Sasha is now at home and he feels well.

24.08.2011 Ilya Kirillov has significant improvement of lymphostasis in his legs. In September he will have MRI of his head and a puncture. Ilya feels well and is in remission.

24.08.2011 Dima Ryabov feels rather well and he is at the day hospital. He still has some issues with intestines and neurologic issue. Blood counts are low and he needs periodic transfusions of platelets and blood components. He finished a cycle of Mabthera and still takes Vfend.

24.08.2011 Katya Markova recovered fully after transplantation and was discharged for outpatient monitoring. She feels rather well.

24.08.2011 Ramil Bulatov was in for another cycle of photopheresis and evaluation. Thanks to photopheresis he has improvement of skin and mucous tissues. He still takes Vfend and calcium supplements. The next cycle of photopheresis is scheduled for September.

24.08.2011 Anya Andreeva completed therapy with photopheresis. She has improvement with GVHD and was allowed to go home. Noxafil is still needed.

24.08.2011 Igor Zhuikov's lungs and kidney function is continuing to improve. The current concern is about an infiltrate that he got on his left cheek, high fever and constant pains in his spine. CT scan showed compression fracture of vertebrae 7, 8, and 12, spondylitis of thoracic 8th vertebra and advanced osteoporosis.

24.08.2011 Anya Korol feels well and started walking. She completed another chemotherapy cycle and will have control MRI.

23.08.2011 Yulia Dikan is doing well and started daycare.

23.08.2011 Control tests showed that Lera Sukhoverkhova has disease progression and blasts in peripheral blood. Lera was hospitalized at R. Gorbacheva Pediatric Hematology & Transplantation clinic for anti-relapse chemotherapy. A donor is not yet found.

23.08.2011 AdVita Foundation initiated fund-raising for the treatment of Ksenia Yakovenko.

22.08.2011 Nilufari Sharifbek completed planned tests. All is well and all blood counts are normal. Nilufari feels great.

22.08.2011 Dima Zherebyatiev's family was able to raise remaining amount necessary to pay off the bill for the donor search and delivery of transplant.

22.08.2011 A donor for Larisa Mashevskaya was found. Transplantation is preliminarily scheduled for end of September - early October. Larisa is still being monitored at day hospital at R. Gorbacheva Pediatric Hematology & Transplantation Institute. She feels rather well.

22.08.2011 Oksana Nosik fully recovered after transplantation and was discharged for outpatient monitoring. Donor's bone marrow engrafted and Oksana feels well.

22.08.2011 Unfortunately, Gleb Bogdanov's unrelated transplantation was canceled. During pre-transplant chemotherapy, Gleb was diagnosed with an infection that would endanger engraftment of donor's bone marrow. After chemotherapy Gleb was transplanted his own cells that were harvested previously. He is now recovering and feeling well. Based on latest puncture, he is in complete remission. Unrelated bone marrow transplantation was rescheduled for fall. Gleb still needs Noxafil.

22.08.2011 Gleb Kalinyuk is undergoing the 4th cycle of chemotherapy and feels well. He still needs Noxafil.

22.08.2011 Kira Antonova came to St. Petersburg. Transplantation was scheduled for August 24th. She is now undergoing a cycle of pre-transplant chemotherapy.

22.08.2011 Vova Gusev has improvement in regards to pneumonia. Vova is continuing to take Vfend, and was also prescribed Fungizone. Volodya recovered with his own cells. Second transplantation was postponed until pneumonia is completely cured.

22.08.2011 Timofei Bychkov had a consultation with a neurosurgeon and it was decided to continue conservative therapy with antibacterial and anti-fungal drugs.

22.08.2011 Serezha Maister is continuing maintenance therapy in low doses. His blast count stabilized.

22.08.2011 Serezha Vasiliev recovered after a cycle of chemotherapy. He is stable and his blast count is on the same level. He is receiving maintenance therapy.

22.08.2011 Anya Golubyatnikova returned to St. Petersburg. She will continue maintenance chemotherapy and therapy to improve renal function. As soon as she improves, MIBG therapy followed by donor's cell infusion will be considered again.

15.08.2011 Kolya Markov is planned to undergo the following treatment: chemotherapy followed by radiation on sacrum, and finally - autologous bone marrow transplantation.

15.08.2011 Nika Baranova had a very hard time tolerating post-operative anesthesia and the first chemotherapy cycle. After her blood counts dropped, she could not recover for a long time. The second cycle was a little easier than the first. Nika feels relatively well, but cannot eat at all.

15.08.2011 Vika Smirnova is starting to walk, although very carefully. She has been recovering from a cycle of chemotherapy for the last four weeks. She has fever and her blood counts are low.

15.08.2011 Nino Utiashvili had a radioisotope study on August 11th. She has no lesions with contrast uptake, and her bones and tissues are cancer free. However, she is accumulating fluid near her ankle and knee joints. She started another cycle of chemotherapy.

15.08.2011 Diana Ibragimova will travel to University clinic in Tubingen, Germany for installation of prostheses in Diana's both hip joints. The clinic estimated surgery to cost 19,000 euros. In addition, Diana and her mom will need help with buying air tickets, lodging and food, as well as translator's services and a course of rehabilitation. Please help!

12.08.2011 Ira Nikonova is at home, in Novgorod, where she is continuing immunotherapy.

12.08.2011 Lera Bychkova is already at the clinic in Greifswald. It was decided to start her therapy with RIST regimen.

12.08.2011 Liza Belova has died.

11.08.2011 Galima Bolshakova feels rather well. The swelling is gone, but her blood pressure is unstable again. She is monitored as an outpatient. In early September she will go for examination by a hematologist, and a sterile puncture is scheduled for October. She still needs Vfend.

11.08.2011 Anya Smirnova has acute GVHD (hemorrhagic cystitis). She has fever and was urgently hospitalized at the clinic for tests and selection of therapy. Vfend is still needed.

11.08.2011 Nino Utiashvili completed 12th cycle of chemotherapy. She is planned to have MRI and isotope study. Hospitalization for the 13th cycle is scheduled for August 15th. Nino is very tired and suffers from headaches.

11.08.2011 Valentina Moschenkova is still at home. She had several tests, but hospitalization is still uncertain. She takes Vfend.

11.08.2011 Galina Gavrilova's condition worsened. She suffers from heat, and it is hard to walk, as her legs ache. She sees black dots in front of her eyes, is very depressed and unable to sleep.

10.08.2011 Dasha Nekozyreva came in for control tests. She has slight symptoms of chronic skin GVHD. Hormonal therapy was canceled, and Dasha is now treated with Gleevec. She feels well.

10.08.2011 Dima Ryabov was referred for a lumbar puncture and additional tests. He also still has autoimmune cytopenia and hypofunction of transplant. Dima needs to continue Vfend therapy.

10.08.2011 Serezha Popov still has signs of autoimmune cytopenia. He is continuing Mabthera therapy. Serezha feels OK.

10.08.2011 Arseny Kochukov was discharged for outpatient monitoring. He has no signs of GVHD or infections. He feels well, is active and happy.

10.08.2011 Tatiana Vostrikova underwent a second transplantation 16 days ago. She is in a serious condition due to severe mucositis and veno-occlusive hepatic disease.

10.08.2011 Marat Bugulov is in a serious condition due to grade IV intestinal GVHD. He receives therapy with Remicade.

10.08.2011 Daniil Ryabov is now in complete remission. Bone marrow transplantation was rescheduled for September 7th.

10.08.2011 Oksana Nosik is in the second week post-transplant. She is in cytopenia, but feels rather well.

10.08.2011 Igor Simonov feels well and GVHD symptoms are under control. He is continuing Vfend therapy.

10.08.2011 Maxim Merkulov underwent another cycle of chemotherapy and feels rather well. The autologous transplantation is scheduled for September. Vfend is still needed.

10.08.2011 Olga Igosheva underwent second haploidentical transplantation from her sister. Today is the 11th day post-transplant. Olga is in cytopenia for now.

10.08.2011 Vladimir Frantsev has new lesions, based on tests, and a disease progression is suspected. Vladimir is fatigued and has difficulty with swallowing. In the next few days he will be hospitalized so that new therapy can be selected.

10.08.2011 Akop Gulabyan still has significant skin GVHD. He continues to need Vfend.

10.08.2011 Marina Alyushina was diagnosed with upper respiratory infection and she has a strong cough. Marina is undergoing therapy at pulmonologist. She is in remission in regards to the primary diagnosis.

10.08.2011 Irina Prikhodko recovered after transplantation and was discharged for outpatient monitoring. She does not feel very well yet due to fatigue. She will be tested for cytomegaloviral infection.

10.08.2011 Evgeniy Ostrovsky was discharged for outpatient monitoring. He has slight skin GVHD and receives hormonal therapy. He still needs Vfend.

10.08.2011 Igor Kechkin's transplantation went on schedule. He successfully recovered and was discharged for outpatient monitoring. Control puncture showed complete engraftment of transplant and complete remission. He shows no signs of GVHD.

10.08.2011 Edik Movsesyan's condition worsened: he has neurologic complications, and his speech suffered. He was transferred to intensive care unit, and will have a brain MRI. He still has symptoms of intestinal GVHD and proteins are not being digested. Edik needs continuing therapy with albumin. He is improving in regards to GVHD of liver. Mabthera therapy was put on hold. Edik was prescribed Cancidas as antifungal therapy.

10.08.2011 Fedya Bolshukhin feels relatively well. After the last cycle of chemotherapy, his doctors allowed him to go home to rest for several days.

10.08.2011 Kolya Markov underwent MRI that showed rapid tumor growth. In the next few days doctors will consider further treatment options. Kolya is now at dacha with his family. He does not feel very well due to fever, difficulty walking and pain.

10.08.2011 In early July Masha Bolokhova was hospitalized at hospital No. 31 and underwent a cycle of chemotherapy. She did not tolerate it well: she had fever and needed blood transfusions and therapy with antibiotics. As soon as Masha felt better, her mom took her home and refused further treatment.

10.08.2011 Zhenya Vasilenko had almost a year since the last chemotherapy cycle. Zhenya's platelet count is still somewhat low and he continues having problems with his legs: it hurts when he tries to walk, and he needs to have a whole hip joint prosthesis, or a replacement of the head of the joint. Zhenya enrolled into Engineering and Economics College in St. Petersburg.

10.08.2011 Aif-Kind Heart charity transferred 68,868 euros to a clinic in Germany for Inna Shakhmayeva's therapy. The funds for her treatment are raised.

10.08.2011 Sanzhima Lodoeva completed the 6th cycle of chemotherapy with paclitera and carboplatin, and she feels rather well. Colonoscopy showed that all is clear. Her treating doctor recommended to check liver as well and referred Sanzhima for oncomarker tests. Sanzhima's family is asking for help with paying apartment rent.

09.08.2011 Serezha Maister completed another cycle of chemotherapy. His blasts level is unchanged. He was prescribed maintenance therapy with Purinethol, Cyclophosphane and Dexamethasone. He feels rather well and on weekends he stays at home.

09.08.2011 Based on MRI results, Timofei Bychkov has improvement with the lesion in his brain. He receives intravenous Vfend and Meronem. In the next few days he will have a lumbar puncture.

09.08.2011 Alexei Nesterenko is at the hospital again. He had worsening of infection in his lungs and he shows signs of GVHD of lungs. He receives appropriate therapy.

09.08.2011 During lengthy cytopenia, Vova Gusev developed pneumonia. He receives Vfend and antibiotics. In a week he will go for control CT scan. Based on control puncture, his bone marrow is gradually recovering with its own cells.

09.08.2011 Lisa Belova's condition improved and she was moved out of intensive care unit. GVHD of her skin and liver was taken under control. All her blood counts are now normal, although she has slight intestinal GVHD. She still needs medications to treat infectious complications: Cymevene, Neocytotect and Vfend.

09.08.2011 Alena Azup is continuing to recover after second transplantation. Based on control puncture, her blast count is within norm. She continues having signs of skin GVHD. Swelling is now controlled and she is taken off pain control.

09.08.2011 Milana Kuzhenova's doses are being reduced. She feels well.

09.08.2011 Nadya Dorozhko is being monitored as an outpatient. She has neurologic complications after transplantation. It is difficult for her to walk and she has hand tremor. Nadya needs long term therapy with neuromedin, thioctacid, lyrica and neuromultivit. Her infections are under control, and she is in remission in regards to leukemia.

09.08.2011 Ira Finagina is doing about the same: she feels rather well and her hormonal therapy doses are being reduced. She still needs Vfend and CellCept.

08.08.2011 Vika Gladinets underwent the first cycle of Dacogen. She feels rather well and is getting ready for the second injection. Due to skin GVHD, she is receiving hormonal therapy again.

08.08.2011 Vika Kolomytseva is in cytopenia - all her blood counts plummeted and she has a fever. Another infusion of navelbine had to be postponed. Vika receives blood transfusions and antibiotics. As soon as she recovers, therapy will continue.

08.08.2011 Karina Kosareva is in 72nd day after unrelated BMT. She is in remission and feels well. She still needs Vfend and CellCept.

05.08.2011 Sasha Mylnikov completed treatment. He is now recovering at Solnechnoe sanatorium.

05.08.2011 Olya Ilyuncheva came for another evaluation at R. Gorbacheva Institute. Based on puncture results, she is in complete remission, but her blood counts are low. She has low hemoglobin and needs periodic R-mass transfusions. In early November she will have to come for another series of tests.

05.08.2011 Serezha Vasiliev is gradually recovering after a cycle of chemotherapy. He is stable and was transferred out of intensive care. He still needs Vfend and entocort.

05.08.2011 Maxim Bannitsyn was at R. Gorbacheva Institute for control tests. He is in remission in regards to primary diagnosis, but he still needs Vfend and therapy with immunoglobulin. The next evaluation is scheduled in 3 months.

05.08.2011 Seraphim Ovcharenko's old fungal lesions are gone, but a new one appeared. It was decided to continue therapy with Vfend (600 mg daily). The next tests are scheduled for mid-November. Seraphim feels well and is in remission in regards to leukemia.

03.08.2011 Rinata Haritonova has died.

03.08.2011 Vlad Kitaisky had examination: after two cycles of chemotherapy he has improvement. Bone marrow has fewer cancer cells, and CT and MIBG images look better. It was decided to administer two more cycles of chemotherapy with slight modification of protocol.

02.08.2011 Dear friends! We URGENTLY need blood donors B(III) Rh(+) for Rinata Haritonova, the single parent of Anton, with grade II autism. Please help her recover and come back to her son! You can donate blood for Rinata at the blood transfusion unit of City Hospital 31. Unfortunately the hematology unit of City Hospital 31 is closing on August 5, and Rinata is now in a bad cytopenia, and yesterday she had a bleeding. If the doctors manage to stabilize the situation before Friday Rinata will spend the time between chemotherapy courses at one of the hospices in St. Petersburg, until the hematology unit reopens. If blood counts don't rise to safe figures Rinata might be transferred to the therapy unit.

02.08.2011 Follow-up PET for Levon Karagezyan showed that the tumor has decreased and the contrast accumulation intensity is now lower too. The doctors consider it to be a late response to radiation therapy. A couple of days ago Levon had a fever and was urgently hospitalized. Ultrasound revealed a focus with fluid in his liver. It turned out to be a hematoma which appeared because Levon is constantly on anticoagulants. Therapy has been administered. The hematoma is decreasing in size. Levon is feeling fine.

02.08.2011 Oksana Nosik had the transplantation performed on August 1. All blood counts have dropped but she is feeling ok.

02.08.2011 Katya Markova had the transplantation performed. All blood counts have dropped. Katya is feeling ok but is on pain killers due to a bad mucositis.

02.08.2011 A donor has been found for Irina Redkova. Transplantation is scheduled for August 28.

02.08.2011 Transplantation for Vova Gusev is scheduled for August 19.

02.08.2011 Sasha Ustinov has been discharged from hospital. He is taking Hydrea and Purinethol. Once a week he is getting erythrocyte mass and platelets transfusions.

02.08.2011 Sergei Sharov has been admitted to the Raisa Gorbacheva Institute of Children's Hematology and Transplantology. Unfortunately the follow-up puncture before the transplantation revealed blasts in the bone marrow, but the doctors decided not to postpone the transplantation. Since Sergei's aspergillosis is only susceptible to Noxafil he will have to take that drug all through the transplantation and posttransplantation periods. At present Noxafil is not available at the clinic. Sergei needs 6 bottles a month, one bottle costs 40,000 roubles.

02.08.2011 The invoice for donor search for Artem Karnishin has been paid by Artem's parents. The search has been initiated.

02.08.2011 Egor Moskalenko had his tracheostoma tube changed again. Unfortunately the granulomas have started to grow again, so in two weeks Artem is to have a surgery to remove them. Prior to the surgery he has to recover from the viral infection.
