My name is Vladimir Nikolaevich Korpusov. I have a son, Zakhar, he is 23 years old.
In September 2001 my son was diagnosed with B-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma / leukemia. Unfortunately,
in May 2009 a relapse occurred. In August 2009, Zakhar achieved complete clinico-hematological remission.
Zakhar was treated at the Republican Oncologic Center in the Komi Republic.
Doctors referred Zakhar to undergo bone marrow transplantation. The search for a donor in the International
Donor Registry cost us 15,000 euros, and the donor was found. Payment of additional 2,500 euros was required
to deliver the transplant to St. Petersburg.
The transplantation is scheduled for August 11, 2010 at R. Gorbacheva Institute of Pediatric Hematology and Transplantation.
In 2006 my son graduated from Syktyvkar Cooperative Technical School and enrolled into Vyatka Agricultural Academy. Zakhar
could not complete his thesis paper due to surgery.
In 2009 he became a father.
We hope for support from caring people and will welcome any help.
Update as of August 11, 2010.
The bone marrow transplantation took place today at 15.10 as planned. Zakhar
now has a long and difficult recovery ahead of him, but he will overcome the hardships
and everything will be well.
Update as of September 2, 2010.
Zakhar needs Vfend in pills. This is a very expensive drug, and we cannot afford to
pay 27,000 rubles per package every week. Please help Zakhar!
Update as of October 4, 2010.
Zakhar feels well. His temperature and blood pressure are normal.
He was transferred to day hospital. Zakhar still needs Vfend.
Update as of March 10, 2011.
Zakhar is in day care undergoing photopheresis.
He still needs Vfend. Zahar is feeling ok.
Update as of April 1, 2011.
My son is continuing therapy. He has acute skin GVHD and acute mucositis. His
mouth and throat hurt and it is hard for him to talk and swallow. In six weeks,
my son lost 25 kg and is very weakened. After the first cycle of photopheresis,
Denis was allowed to go home for a week, but he got a fever and started showing
signs of bladder obstruction. Local doctors could not help and we returned to R.Gorbacheva
Institute. Here he feels better and his blood counts are normal. However, he has a strong
cough and based on examination results by pulmonologists, he has pneumofibrosis. His lung
function needs to be improved. Zakhar still needs Vfend and a nebulizer. Photopheresis has
been postponed.

Zakhar is still in hospital struggling with complications due to

at the clinic: Vfend, Noxafil and Colistin.
Update as of July 17, 2011.
Zakhar feels much better in regards to both GVHD and infectious
complications, and his doctors are even allowing him to go home
for three weeks. Antifungal drugs are still needed.
