My name is Vladimir Sivukha. I am 46. In November 2008 I was diagnosed with
myelodysplastic syndrome. Even though I underwent five courses of therapy with
Dacogen, my condition did not improve.
On December 17, 2009 I underwent bone marrow transplantation at R. Gorbacheva
clinic. After the transplantation, I developed invasive aspergillosis in my
lungs and was prescribed Vfend (200 mg daily). Since December 23, 2009 I was
receiving Vfend at the clinic, but now the clinic is out of it. Vfend is very
expensive, and I cannot afford to buy it because I do not work and my only
income is my disability pension (I am on group I disability).
Please understand my situation and help me with buying this medication.
Thank you in advance.
Update as of March 7, 2010.
Vladimir's condition is good. He is currently at home, and 1-2
times a week he goes to the clinic for blood tests. His blood
counts improved (platelets are 1.7 and leukocytes - 4.0).
However, Vladimir still has problems with lungs, as he needs to
treat aspergillosis and needs Vfend.
Update as of March 30, 2010.
Vladimir is recovering after transplantation.
He feels well, but still needs Vfend.
Update as of May 19, 2010.
Unfortunately, Vladimir had a relapse. Further therapy is under discussion.
