My name is Tatiana Konovalova. I am 37 and live in Bashkiria.
I am married and have two young children. I've worked for 15 years as a
nurse at the neonatal unit of Children's hospital.
Last summer I started feeling unwell: fatigues, dizziness, and abnormal
blood tests. And I was hospitalized myself. On October 9, 2009 I was
diagnosed with stage III multiple myeloma. I received therapy and
then a disability status.
However, complete cure requires bone marrow transplantation. I received
a quota for treatment at R. Gorbacheva Pediatric Hematology & Transplantology
Institute. I am now in St. Petersburg where I an undergoing tests.
I really need money to rent an apartment for some time.
In the future I will need money to buy those expensive and effective
drugs that the quota does not cover. Our family has no way to raise
this much money. My husband is the only breadwinner, but he is disabled
after a traffic accident, and earns only enough to buy us food.
