Hello!
My name is Antonina. I am asking you to help my son Serafim. He is 14 years
old and is sick with chronic myeloblastic leukemia.
We found ourselves in a very difficult situation. My older daughter also had
cancer: thyroid carcinoma. She had two surgeries. Now Serafim has the same
trouble. We are worn out, both mentally and financially.
My other son is now in military service. I am taking care of Serafim. My husband
is the only wage earner. He works as an engine refueller at the Krasnodar railroads.
His salary is 8,000 roubles. This money is only enough to buy food and pay for
utilities. While my son is to have a non-relative bone marrow transplantation.
For that purpose we had to come to St. Petersburg. We have to pay for examinations
and tests, as well as buy expensive drugs (Fludarabine 45,000 for 5 bottles).
After the transplantation Serafim will most likely need expensive Vfend and
Intraglobin.
Plus we have to rent a flat in St. Petersburg. Please help us! We are so tired
and so want to recover soon! Thank you all for helping us and making the
recovery possible!
Update as of July 23, 2010.
Serafim underwent bone marrow transplantation on July 16th.
For now, donor's cells did not engraft and Serafim feels unwell.
He needs antifungal and anti-nausea drugs.

Seraphim's transplant engrafted and the infectious complications
were taken under control. However, he developed intestinal type of
GVHD and is now receiving therapy.

Seraphim needs expensive medications to continue therapy after bone marrow transplantation.
The test results showed lung infection, a local change in the left lung, and intestinal GVHD. Seraphim
will need lengthy and very expensive treatment to save his life. Please help.
Thank you in advance,

a long time to avoid a recurrence of aspergillosis.
Serafim feels good.
