Hello!
My name is Mariam. In November 2007 my son Sagid was diagnosed with acute
leukemia. He was treated at Blokhin Russian Oncology Research Center until
October 2008.
During a follow-up, it was discovered that the disease came back and is
progressing. Since September 2009 my son has been hospitalized at Hematology
ward of Blokhin RORC with a diagnosis of acute leukemia, 1st early relapse after
high-dosage chemotherapy.
At this stage, he needs urgent unrelated bone marrow transplantation. The operation
itself will be paid for from the federal budget, but the search for the donor in
the German registry requires 15,000 euros, and delivery of the transplant to
St. Petersburg – additional 2,500 euros. Our family does not have this much
money. By now, we were able to find a sponsor who donated 5,000 euros. This money
was transferred to the registry and the search was initiated. Please support
us financially.
Update as of April 16, 2010.
We are sincerely grateful to Grant Life fund for paying for donor
search for Sagid. We now need to raise 2,500 euros for delivery of transplant.
Update as of October 30, 2010.
Sagid is now in Moscow. He is undergoing chemotherapy in Blokhin Russian
Oncology Center. Sagid already completed seven cycles. A donor is not found yet.
Update as of July 7, 2011.
Unfortunately, Sagid had only 9 potential donors and none of them matched.
Sagid decided to stop treatment and returned home. He feels rather well.
