Roma died on April 1, 2010

Dear friends, We are Gronsky family and we would like to ask for financial support. Our son Roman is 9. Since May 16, 2008 he has been fighting acute myeloblastic leukemia (M6, high risk). Roman recently underwent bone marrow transplantation from an unrelated donor at R. Gorbacheva Institute of Pediatric Hematology and Transplantology in St. Petersburg.
We are currently waiting for the transplant to engraft fully. Unfortunately, the medical expenses to treat our son drained our financial resourses. Our family has two more children, and I am on a maternity leave to care for our youngest son. My husband, Andrei Gronsky, works as a firefighter at Sokol airline. He earns 9,000 rubles a month.
We need help with renting an apartment in St. Petersburg, buying medications and paying for tests that Roman vitally needs. We cannot afford these expenses on our own. We will be grateful to everyone who responds.

Medical report

Update as of January 20, 2010. Roman suffers from stage IV GVHD with internal bleeding. He is injected with Tranexam to control bleeding and medications, inhibiting GVHD. Roman also receives enteral nutrition (Intestamine).

Update as of February 3, 2010. Roma's condition is now stable, the bleeding has stopped but there remain signs of a GVH reaction. Roman has become very weak since he is only getting enteral nutrition. We need help with buying Intestamine.

Update as of February 20, 2010. There are fewer signs of GVH reaction but Roman cannot eat on his own, so he needs intravenous nutrition: Intestamine, Modulen, Lipofundine, Omegaven. We also need help with buying Salofalk (in tablets and enemas).

Update as of March 3, 2010. Roman feels better, but he still has GVHD symptoms, so therapy with Salofalk was continued. He still needs enteral nutrition with Intestamine and Lipo Plus, while Modulen was canceled.

Update as of March 14, 2010. Roma's condition is stable and he has minimal intestinal GVHD. However, he still needs Salofalk and enteral nutrition.

Update as of March 23, 2010. Roma suffered from a stroke. He is in intensive care unit.
