Petr died on January 16, 2010

Hello!
I am kindly asking all of you to help our son. Petr is 23, and in February 2008 he was diagnosed with a lymphoma/T-lymphoblastic leukemia. He is being treated at the hematology unit of the Tyumen Regional Hospital and has had several chemotherapy courses. Petr has had two consultations at the Raisa Gorbacheva Institute of Hematology and Transplantology in St. Petersburg. The last two chemotherapy courses were based on the recommendations given by Professor B.V. Afanasiev.
At present my son has a remission. In case a related donor is found he needs a transplantation of stem cells at the hospital of the Raisa Gorbacheva Institute of Hematology and Transplantology which will be performed at the expense of our region's allotment for high-tech treatment, but we have to start searching for the donor since we have no relative donors.
There are potential non-relative donors in the International bank, but the search costs a lot of money - 15,000 euros plus another 2,500 for the delivery of the stem cells. Our family can never afford such expenses.
My husband and I are pensioners (I am 59 and my husband is 69 and he officially belongs to disability group II with limited ability to work), but we both have to work. We asked for help everywhere we could: we turned to other organizations, to our relatives and friends... We are asking you to help us too.
We hope to find people with a kind heart who'd understand the trouble we found ourselves in. Please help us save one more life - that of our son!

Bill for the donor search in Germany

Update as of October 1, 2009. The donor search for Petya was paid for by Tyumen City Administration, and his parents raised the money for the delivery of transplant. Bone marrow transplantation is scheduled for October 21.

Update as of October 13, 2009. Petya urgently needs 17 packages of Busulphan for pre-transplantation chemotherapy. A course of therapy costs 20,000 rubles.

Update as of October 27, 2009. Petya is in the fifth day after transplantation. Everything is proceeding according to the plan.

Update as of January 12, 2010. Unfortunately, Petya relapsed. He underwent second transplantation, this time from his mother. It is now the second week post-transplant. Petya is in a serious condition at the intensive care unit.
