I am 39. I live with my daughter and work as a cashier at Pyaterochka store.
After an examination due to complaints of fainting and low hemoglobin counts
for six months, the doctors finally diagnosed me with cavernous angioma of R
parietal lobe and moderate chronic iron deficiency anemia.
As it turned out, angioma was pressing on the brain vessels and causing fainting
and numbness in my extremities, as well as creating a risk of brain hemorrhage.
At the consultation with neurosurgeon in Military Medical Academy it turned out that
surgery would be dangerous in my case: angioma lies deep inside tissues and minimal
surgical error may cause permanent disability. The alternative is gamma-knife surgery,
which costs 180,000 rubles. This type of treatment is not covered by state-issued quotas.
The doctors are giving me hope for recovery. Today I have to spend up to 12,000 rubles
monthly on my treatment.
My small family has no extra money. We are asking everyone who can help. Even smallest
donation will help bring us closer to our goal.

Update as of April 20, 2012.
Nina's seizures increased, therefore the surgery cannot be postponed any longer.
Nina will have to undergo MRI and a medication therapy cycle before the operation.
