Hello, my name is Lena and the woman on the photo is my mom - Natalia Haratishvili.
She is 44. We live in St. Petersburg. About six months ago my mother was hospitalized
at Alexandrovskaya hospital with acute myeloblastic leukemia. Chemotherapy courses
were very hard for my mom, she constantly had severe complications. The third cycle
was followed by a fibroid tumor on her right check, which spread down to her neck.
Mom needed surgery and afterwards she spent eleven days in ICU, in a critical condition.
It's a miracle that doctors saved her life. Many thanks to them!
At present mother's leukemia is in remission, but her condition is still critical
because of fibroid tumor – her cheek is healing slowly, she has high temperature every
day… But this is not the only problem. Mom's type of leukemia will recur without
bone marrow transplantation. It means that we need to pay 15,000 euros to
International Registry for donor search and 2,500 euros more for urgent
transplant delivery in St. Petersburg.
Our family includes my mother, my grandmother and me. We won't be able to raise
that much money, and I desperately want to save my mother's life, because she is
still so young! We will appreciate any help!

Update as of October 22, 2011.
Mom feels rather well. She is not getting fever anymore and
her mood had improved in the last few days. The doctors told us
that she is in sustained remission.

Update as of November 13, 2011.
My mom started maintenance chemotherapy. She feels well. A donor is
not found yet. We are very grateful to everyone who is helping us!

Update as of December 18, 2011.
Natalia had another maintenance chemotherapy course, based on the examination
results she has a stable remission. Unfortunately a fungal infection was found
in her lungs, so Vfend was prescribed. The final decision on the antifungal
therapy will be made after the consultation at the Mycology Research Institute.
Natalia is feeling ok. The donor has not been found yet.

A donor was found, and transplantation was scheduled for late April,
although exact date is not yet known.

Hello! We were told the exact date of transplantation: May 4th.
My mom is now being followed as a day patient at Gorbacheva Institute.
She started having tests and preparing for the transplantation.
We would really appreciate help with paying off our debt to the
S. Morsch registry and covering the cost of transplant delivery.

Today was mom's fourth day of chemotherapy. She feels rather well,
but her temperature is somewhat elevated.
