Hello!
Magomed is our second child. He was born early, at 7 months, when he weighed just 1.5 kg. But he started growing quickly and caught up with his peers. He is a happy and quiet boy. He loves playing and helping around the house.
It happened in October 1999. My son complained of pains in his arm, but a visit to the doctor did not find anything serious. However, the pains were getting stronger and he was taken to the district hospital. There we were told that the pain is caused by an infection and my son was given injections. After his condition continued to worsen, we were referred to St. Petersburg.
In 2000 Magomed underwent evaluation at hospital No.31 in St. Petersburg where we heard a terrifying diagnosis: Hodgkin’s lymphoma. We started treatment and completed six cycles of chemotherapy. Our son felt better and we were allowed to go home. However, when we returned for control tests after some time, it turned out that Magomed had a relapse!
He started treatment again: chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and autologous transplantation in 2002. It was difficult, but Magomed was able to achieve remission. After that we came for control tests every year and everything was well.
However, in June 2010 we heard this terrible diagnosis again, and the harsh treatment started all over… Now bone marrow transplantation is being considered. A search for the donor at the international registry costs 15,000 euros, and it cost 2500 euros more to pay for courier delivery of transplant from a European center to St. Petersburg.
We cannot cope on our own. Please give our son a chance to live!

Update as of August 10, 2011. Magomed is being monitored as an outpatient. He receives maintenance therapy that will continue until a donor is found. His parents loaned 3000 euros and transferred the money as the first installment to the bone marrow donor registry. The family's financial situation is dire. Magomed also needs long-term therapy with Vfend.

Update as of October 28, 2011. Magomed has progression of his disease as well as a fungal infection. He was added Cancidas to Vfend therapy, as chemotherapy is currently impossible with the infection in his lungs.
