Hello!
I would like to ask kind people for help. My name is Mikhail Glazachev,
and I am asking for support for my mother, Marina Glazacheva.
In August 2010 my mother suddenly felt very unwell. After lengthy
examination she received a terrifying diagnosis: myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS),
a disease in which bone marrow constantly produces defective cells. MDS can
transform into a very severe form of acute leukemia at any moment. Only a bone
marrow transplantation from a compatible unrelated donor can save my mother.
The transplantation can be performed at Raisa Gorbacheva Institute of Pediatric
Hematology and Transplantology in St. Petersburg. But to find a donor we need
to pay 15,000 euros to the International Registry and additional 2,500 euros for
the delivery of the transplant material.
By now my mother has already gone through 11 cycles of chemotherapy and it will
continue until a donor is found. According to the recent tests, the disease is
progressing, and chemotherapy can no longer control it. Our family includes my
mother, my sister and me. My sister is disabled since childhood, she is on
disability and needs constant care. I work at two jobs to support my family.
But I do not earn enough to afford medical treatment for my mom. I was able
to save only 100,000 rubles.
I am asking anyone who can help: please help save my mom!
