I would like to ask for help those who care for people in difficult situations. My name is Evgeny Subbotin, my mother, Lyubov Subbotina, needs help. Our family has had much misfortune. In April my father had a heart attack and died, and nine days later the doctors diagnosed my mother with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Currently she is treated in Alexandrov Hospital in St. Petersburg but the chemotherapy is not going to be enough. The doctors of R. Gorbacheva Institute of Pediatric Hematology and Transplantology said that she needs bone marrow transplantation, otherwise, the disease will return. The search for a donor in the International Registry costs 15,000 euros, and 2500 euros should be paid for the transplant delivery.
Our family moved to St. Petersburg from Chelyabinsk region. My brother's little daughter needed a heart operation as she was born with four congenital cardiac anomalies. She had two operations in Bakulev Cardiovascular Surgery Research Center and there are two more operations ahead.
We came to St. Petersburg when my father was offered a job here. My brother and I also found jobs here as we had to pay off debts for my niece's treatment and surgery. And then we suddenly had this tragedy, first with my father, then with my mother... My brother and I do our best, we try to earn as much money as we can, we are not sitting around idly, but the medical care for our mom and my niece requires a lot of money, and we can't possibly earn the necessary amount to pay for the donor search. So far we have only raised 2000 euros that we immediately sent to the Registry a month ago. They have started the search but we still need so much money! I ask everyone who has an opportunity to help - please help me save my mother!

Medical conclusion

Update as of December 25, 2011. Lyubov feels OK, but has elevated temperature. She is now undergoing evaluation at R. Gorbacheva Institute. A donor was found, and transplantation is scheduled for January 26th. We urgently need to pay off the debt to the S. Morsch registry (13,000 euros) and find additional 2500 euros for delivery of transplant.

Update as of January 26, 2012. Transplantation took place today as scheduled. Lyubov is now recovering. Delivery of transplant was paid for, but she still owes registry for the donor search.

Update as of April 19, 2012. Lubov was diagnosed with the skin GVH reaction and prescribed hormones therapy. Unfortunately hormones were hard on Lubov and resulted in muscle weakness (she can hardly walk) and steroid diabetes. GVH reaction is under control now, the doctors are decreasing hormones doses. The basic disease is in remission. Vfend is still needed.
