Hello!
We are the parents of Ksenia Ozhegova. We came from the Republic of Komi.
Our daughter got sick all of a sudden. She had a high fever. For two weeks she
was administered treatment for an infection but the child's condition kept getting
worse. Ksenia stopped walking and eating and became very weak.
On September 1, 2009, which was Ksenia's second birthday, we heard her terrible
diagnosis: myeloblastic leukemia. No one could imagine that an awful disease
like cancer can hit such a little cute girl so dearly loved by us all.
We were transferred to the hematology unit. Since that time our cutie's eyes
filled with horror and fear. Then there were chemotherapies, endless blood
counts, punctures and blood transfusions The girl was scared of everyone who
even entered her ward. For five months Ksenia was administered treatment at
the Republican Cardiology and Rheumatology Unit. We are very thankful to our
doctors: Sergei Mikhailovich Kiselev and Natalia Fedorovna Chipsanova.
But unfortunately that was not all. To recover fully Ksenia needs a bone marrow
transplantation. Thank God, our elder son turned out to be a 100% compatible
donor for her. He is 19 years older than Ksenia, and the doctors say that is an
ideal situation.
Now we are in St. Petersburg. An examination testified to blast cells growth. An
urgent transplantation was performed on February 25. But the donor bone marrow
failed to take hold, and on April 1 another transplantation was performed.
At present Ksenia is recovering. She will have to take expensive drugs (like
Vfend and Intraglobulin) for a long time. We have to rent an apartment in
St. Petersburg. We have many children, and my husband is the only wage earner.
Please help us overcome all our hardships!
Thank you all for not being indifferent to another person's grief!
