My name is Lyudmila Nikolaevna. My oldest son Kirill was diagnosed with
Ewing's sarcoma in February 2009. He completed six rounds of chemotherapy at
Oncology Research Institute in Pesochny. To strengthen the effect of chemotherapy,
he needed autologous bone marrow transplantation. For this reason, my son was
transferred to R. Gorbacheva Institute of Pediatric Hematology and Transplantology.
In August his stem cells were collected and in October he received the transplant.
After transplantation, he will need regular testing and costly medications.
He receives the main treatment for free, but, unfortunately, not all the medications
are covered by the federal quota. In our family, only my husband has a job. My
youngest son is in the 4th grade. Please help me save my Kirill! He is a very
good and kind boy, caring brother and loving son. I am grateful to everyone
who will respond.
Update as of January 10, 2010.
Unfortunately, autotransplantation did not produce desired results.
Kirill's condition is worsening. He is now in hospice care
where he receives painkillers.
