Hello!
My name is Kirill Belov, I am 27 years old. It has been 9 months since
I started treatment at hematology unit of Botkin hospital
in Moscow where I received a terrifying diagnosis: leukemia.
The disease manifested itself suddenly: I passed out at work,
even though previously I felt absolutely healthy and went
to the clinic only for annual checkups.
All this time my great doctors are doing everything they
can to cure me. Recently a decision was made that I need
bone marrow transplantation. I am certainly ready for
the operation, if it gives me a chance to get well, be
with my family and see my daughter Nastyusha grow up.
I am enormously grateful to my doctors, my family and
all the good people who are doing so much for my recovery.
All that my wife's parents and my own parents earn goes
to my treatment, but unfortunately, my immediate family,
relatives and friends cannot afford to pay for the donor
search (15,000 euros) and delivery of transplant
to St. Petersburg (2,500 euros).
I really want to live, love and raise my daughter!
I am asking all good people to help me. I understand that
there are many requests just like mine, but
this is my last hope.
Update as of February 1, 2010.
Based on preliminary search results, Kirill has many potential donors.
We are sincerely grateful to DKMS registry for giving Kirill a discount
on the donor search. We will receive the bill in a few days.
Update as of April 16, 2010.
Even though Kirill had many potential matching donors based on a
preliminary search results, a 100% match has not yet been found.
We are sincerely grateful to DKMS registry for performing donor
search for Kirill for free. We only need to raise money for
collection of transplant and its delivery.
Update as of May 19, 2010.
Kirill's relatives and co-workers raised the rest of the amount for the
donor search and delivery of transplant.
Update as of July 1, 2010.
Unfortunately, the donor search at DKMS registry produced
only a partial match. After discussion of this situation, it
was decided to continue the search, as Kirill has many
potential donors (over a thousand), but it takes time to type
them, and unfortunately, such a wide range of the search
cannot be done for free. We received a new bill for the
donor search for Kirill from S. Morsch registry for 15,000 euros.
Update as of July 5, 2010.
The donor search for Kirill Belov was paid in full by an anonymous supporter.
We are enormously grateful to him for help!
