My son's Ilnur's diagnosis on February 5, 2009 sounded like a thunder in a
clear sky: acute myeloblastic leukemia. I believe he became sick around
September – November 2008, when I started to notice that he lost a lot of
weight.
I thought it could be due to change in his environment and move from country
to the city, as it was when he enrolled into Fuel and Energy college in Ufa.
Ilnur began feeling constantly tired in December. But he became clearly sick at
the end of January 2009: he had flu symptoms and fever that would not go away
even with medications. Then the diagnosis was determined. Ilnur had a long and
expensive therapy ahead of him.
We have three sons: the oldest Airat is 21, and he is a student of Aviation
Institute in Ufa. Youngest, Ainur, is in the 4th grade. My husband Ramil Nasibullovich
is a trade teacher at a vocational school. I am a teacher in school. Since February
I have not been paid as I was on a sick leave to care for my son. Due to our
low earnings, our family budget cannot afford all the expenses related to Ilnur's
treatment.
On behalf of my whole family, I would like to ask you to help us with finding
a place to live while Ilnur is on treatment at R. Gorbacheva Pediatric Hematology
and Transplantology in St. Petersburg.
