Hello!
My name is Natalia Kryukova, and I am asking for help for
my husband Igor Kryukov. We were an ordinary family and had
our joys and worries, sorrows and happy days. Igor was born
and grew up in Petergof. Here he graduated from boarding school
with in-depth studies of physics and mathematics, followed by
the Physics Department of Leningrad State University and graduate
school. He is a PhD and worked for federal geological and geophysical
institutions for many years. I am a doctor. Six years ago a joyous event
took place in our family – we were at last parents of a baby girl. We
lived together, worked, loved each other and raised our Polina. We were
an ordinary happy family…
A year ago Igor's sudden and awful diagnosis - non-Hodgkin's
lymphoma – wrecked the well-being of our family and our routines
overnight and is continuing to wreck our lives. Pain, fear,
despair – we've been through it all, but the disaster only helped to
knit us together. Igor underwent seven cycles of chemotherapy,
autologous transplantation in Russia, radioimmunotherapy with Zevalin
and radiation therapy in Germany. However, only partial remission has
been achieved, and only a donor bone marrow transplantation can help.
The transplantation itself is performed free of charge, but the donor search
in the International registry costs 15,000 euros, another 2,500 euros is
needed for transplant delivery.
Currently, Igor is on maintenance therapy with expensive medication
Revlimid. A number of complications have appeared during the treatment,
and we need to buy expensive drugs and pay for regular examinations.
For more than a year we have fought the disease on our own, without asking
for help. Unfortunately, it has greatly depleted our finances. At this time,
we are unable to pay for the donor search and the transplant delivery…
On November, 6 Igor turned 42. It was a sad birthday, but we still believe
that we can overcome the disaster and defeat the illness. Igor's dream is
to take his beloved daughter to school next year, teach her everything he
knows, see her grow up. He wants to make plans – and just live! We want
to be an ordinary happy family once again!
Part of the amount needed has already been raised (154,600 rubles,
300 dollars and 100 euro as of today). However, it isn't even half of the
amount needed. We will be grateful for any help – your priceless help is our hope.
Thank you for helping us!
Update as of December 12, 2011.
Bendamustine therapy is being postponed due to high transaminase in blood.
Igor is receiving appropriate therapy. Based on PET, he has a progression.
