Inna died on February 8, 2011

|
Hello,
My name is Inna Nikolaevna. At present I am participating in a clinical
trials program at the Petrov Research Institute. My doctor says the treatment
may be going on for a year or more. I got sick with breast cancer back in 2007.
In August 2007 I underwent a sectoral surgery, which was followed by a
radical operation. I was administered radiation therapy as well as 6
chemotherapy courses. 3 months after the treatment course was over I
had numerous metastases in the liver and was diagnosed with a highly
aggressive HER-2 (+3) form.
The treatment continued with 8 chemotherapy courses plus Herceptin
for up to a year. 3 months after the second-line therapy was over
(in May 2010) there was another relapse, with numerous lesions in
the liver, even larger than before.
The search for advanced treatment methods has brought me to the
Petrov Research Institute in St. Petersburg. The first two months
I stayed at my friends', but I will have to leave their flat shortly.
I do not have the funds to rent an apartment: I live on my pension
allowance and some help from my mother who is almost 70. My mother
also has to help my daughter who is a college student and whom I
am raising without a husband.
If I managed to get temporary registration in St. Petersburg I could
take odd jobs provided my condition improves. In the meantime I cannot
cope without financial help from the outside.
Please help me buy Omnipaque (100 ml) or Ultravist (100 ml) needed for
computed tomography. The contract stipulates that I have to acquire
those drugs on my own in the course of the clinical trials.
After the fifth treatment course I have to undergo CT every 21 days.
I really hope for your help!

Medical report
Update as of September 6, 2010.
Based on CT scan as of August 20th, after three treatment cycles,
lesions shrank more than in half, so Inna will continue the clinical trial.
Update as of September 26, 2010.
Before my return to Tolyatti for re-application for disability I underwent another CT scan: no progression!
So I will continue my therapy. The next CT scan is scheduled after October 20th. I feel more or less well
due to constant fatigue, but I can deal with that. I went for disability panel and I was kept in group II disability,
although I hoped for group I. Usually, chemotherapy, especially as much as I had, gives basis to acceptance
into group I, which disallows work, but it did not happen. I am grateful to everyone who is helping me!

Update as of November 10, 2010.
CT has shown decrease of liver lesions. I am continuing treatment and
praying to God that the clinical trial lasts as long as possible.
It is already Phase III and it can close at any moment.
I am hoping for the best. I am very grateful to Advita Fund for the
great help that you provided to me and so many others.

Update as of December 22, 2010.
Unfortunately, scheduled tests showed tumor progression.
Inna is now undergoing chemotherapy locally to contain tumor growth.
After New Year, a new clinical trial will be started in which Inna
will likely be enrolled. She is ready to fight and continue treatment.
Inna feels relatively well.
Update as of January 17, 2011.
Inna is undergoing therapy locally. She is in a serious condition
after brain swelling with suspected metastases.
Chemotherapy is postponed.
