PLEASE HELP ME! It so happened that I find myself seriously ill and in a difficult financial
situation with the debt of 65,000 rubles. This debt resulted from my sickness, which in turn
prevents me from paying it back.
I am a disabled person of group 2 suffering from the multiple sclerosis and a number of other
health problems. My medical expenses and the cost of equipment that helps me function on
a daily basis are tremendous. I live in a poor region and under the local quota I'm entitled only
to one free medication. I was also provided with crutches and urological supplies. All other
medications and supplies are to be covered by myself. My family's income is 2,361 rubles
per person, which explains how I ended up with such a large debt. It would have been even
larger but for the financial support that came from Sergey Mironov's political party, as they
agreed to cover some costs, for which I'm eternally thankful to them!
My health condition is getting worse, and I started falling when outside and am able to
walk only short distance. The multiple sclerosis is rapidly progressing and the thoughts of
having such a large debt are constantly on my mind. I applied to numerous organizations
for help only to be turned down by all of them. This year I couldn't check myself into the
hospital, as all the costs related to my stay and treatment including even a saline drip,
would have to be covered from my pocket. The lack of required treatment significantly
contributes to the rapid progression of the multiple sclerosis: bad tremor interferes with
my writing and my muscles are getting slack without the required exercise on special equipment.
Unfortunately I don't get any support or help from my family which at some point even made
me think about opting for a nursing home.
Please help me if you can! I'll be grateful for any financial support or donated medications.
Below is the list of required medications:
I'm begging you for help, I desperately want to stay on my feet for as long as possible!
Respectfully yours,
Galina Alexeevna Gavrilova

Update as of November 11th, 2010.
My health condition is getting worse, I have to stay in bed the whole day and
am able to get out of bed only in the evenings. This is due to the heat wave with
the temperatures reaching 32 0C (89.6 0F). Getting out of bed always poses a risk
of falling. My whole body is covered with bruises from numerous falls and daily injections.
I can't afford to buy prescribed medications and can only hope for other people's help.
The two medications needed the most are Miacalcin nasal spray and Alpha D3 teva and
they have to be taken as a course of treatment. This would help ease the pain in my legs,
which I can't bear anymore.

Update as of November 26th, 2010.
I came down with flu and have to stay in bed due to high fever. I suffer from constant fits
of cough and asthenia. I'm unable to get out of bed. The possibility of further progression
of the multiple sclerosis makes me panic as this will inevitably mean hospitalization. This is
my sad news in a nutshell.

Update as of July 21, 2011.
With the terrible heat that we have had for days, my health issues worsened.
I am now very dizzy, which has not happened much before. It is hard for me
to speak or write. I think that I am writing, but in reality I get some odd
combination of letters. It is hard for me to breathe, and the breathing
spasms had happened to me even at normal weather.
I get injections of Copaxone every day for my disease, but it only
increases my breathing difficulty. And I cannot stop injecting it, as
it gives me hope to postpone paralysis.
I cannot walk much - I feel shaky and walk into the corners, so I got
bruises all over. I am very fatigued and my vision went down - I see
everything as if in a fog.
I have a lot of tremor in my hands, and my relatives get irritated and
slap my hands, while I don't even notice it. I want to drink, but I cannot - I
have hydrocephaly and I am all swollen and don't feel my head much.
I am dreaming of A/C unit, but cannot afford it, of course.
Thank you very much for supporting me!

Update as of August 11, 2011.
I feel really sick. It is hard to walk, as my legs ache. I see black
dots in front of my eyes, and I am very depressed and cannot sleep.
Heat is exhausting me and I lie down mostly. I am really hoping for
help from good people.

Update as of September 18, 2011.
I am very grateful to everyone who showed their support for me
and helped!
At home I am currently under stress most of the time - my relatives
do not understand me and do not feel sorry for me. I even had to call
ambulance myself when my blood pressure rose which very rarely happens.
My relatives did not even talk to the doctors.
My condition worsened dramatically - my vision went bad, I am fatigued
and got swollen. I have difficulty walking due to dizziness. Next week I
will be planning my hospitalization. I would need to come to the hospital
and bring my own medications, syringes, IV systems and possibly even
saline drip. I am hoping to undergo plasmapheresis if my blood counts allow.

Update as of October 8, 2011.
I am now in hospital but I go home every once in a while. Yesterday I
had my first plasmapheresis and it made me sad. I remember how nice
my plasma looked when I first got ill, and now it's just dirty dishwash.
I will have two more sessions. I have to bring all drugs with me, some
of them I didn't even have the time to buy yet. Thus, I need 5 ampullas
of Berlithion (some 700 roubles), Cytoflavin (900 roubles), and I
have to take Noben for 1.5 months.
The doctors have recommended special nutrition now — in order to
improve my blood and overcome the weakness. I need your support as
I will not cope on my own.

Update as of October 18, 2011.
I'm back home. I'm feeling very weak, spending most of the time in bed.
Now I need to pay special attention to the right nutrition and recovering.
I cannot afford much with my pension allowance but there's nothing much
I can do about it. Many thanks to all my supporters and the AdVita fund!

Update as of November 6, 2011.
I could not write for a while, after I hit my head and my lumbar
hernias suffered. I could barely walk and now feel a little better.
I need several medications to continue treatment, for the total of
27,692 rubles. I cannot afford all of them myself.
Please help me buy medications so I can stay mobile!
