Hello!
My name is Alexandra Patsera. I have two children: 12-year-old Vlad and 4-year-old Egor. We live in Podporozhie, a town in Leningrad region.
In November 2009, Egor's blood was drawn and it turned out he had low hemoglobin (55). He was admitted to a hospital in Podporozhie. On the morning of November 27th, the test results were taken to the lab at the First Medical Institute in St. Petersburg, as local doctors suspected leukemia. The lab discovered that Yegor had 19% of blasts in his blood.
On the evening of November 27th we were admitted to R. Gorbacheva Institute of Pediatric Hematology and Transplantology. On Monday, November 30th, Egor was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. We started treatment. Please help us with paying for our son's treatment and renting an apartment near the hospital (we live 300 km away).
My husband is the only earner at this time, so we will not be able to afford the treatment on our own.

Update as of January 28, 2010. Egor is now on a break between the chemotherapy cycles. He is resting and recovering at the rented apartment.

Update as of February 9, 2010. We still live in a rented apartment. Egor is now on maintenance chemotherapy. His blood counts are staying good and he feels well. We are grateful to everyone who is helping us.

Update as of April 3, 2010. Egor is still on maintenance chemotherapy. He needs Methotrexate for the next injection, as the clinic is out of this drug.

Update as of May 19, 2010. Egor is starting 10-day course of hormonal therapy. He now has low protein count, so he got injections of Albumin. On Monday he will have another blood tests that will help to determine whether more Albumin is needed to be bought. Egor is not eating well, and hopefully it will improve with hormonal therapy.

Update as of June 22, 2010. Egor is now undergoing chemotherapy with Purinethol and Methotrexate, he is in the 4th week. Egor feels well. We live in a rented apartment. We are very grateful to everyone who is helping us!

Update as of August 18, 2010. Egor is done with the basic treatment course and is now in remission. He is at home in Podporozhie, where he is administered maintenance therapy under the doctors' control.

Update as of October 18, 2010. We now live at home. Egor is on maintenance therapy and we come for control tests once a month. Egor feels well. We are very grateful to everybody.

Update as of December 24, 2010. Egor is at home, take maintenance therapy medications, feels well, blood counts are normal. He is eagerly awaits New Year and Santa Clause with presents. We greatly appreciate everyone's help!
