Evgeniy died on September 8, 2011
Hello!
I am writing to you out of desperation and hopelessness. I need help! My
name is Evgeniy Andrianov. I am 29 years old. I am sick
with acute myeloblastic leukemia.
For the last three months I have not left the hospital walls. I was administered
three courses of chemotherapy. I will also need an operation, bone marrow
transplantation. The search for a donor at the international registry costs
a lot of money – 15,000 euros. I also need to raise 2,500 euros for delivery
of bone marrow from the European collection center to St. Petersburg.
My relatives can afford only a small part of this amount. They live in the
country, and are not well off. I am hoping that there are people with kind
hearts who can feel others' pain and despair. I understand that we are
complete strangers, but none of us is guaranteed from disease or death.
Any amount of help will support me. Please help me. I am grateful in advance
ot everyone who responds.

stem cells
Update as of September 29, 2010.
It's been three weeks since Zhenya underwent haploidentical bone marrow
transplantation. The blood values have restored to normal, there are no blasts
or manifestations of graft-versus-host-disease. The costs of the transplantation
equipment could be met thanks to Captain Nemo's donation.
Update as of October 22, 2010.
Zhenya is in remission. Donor's bone marrow engrafted at 100%. However, he
keeps running fever for unknown reason.
Update as of November 24, 2010.
Evgeniy is on outpatient treatment in the
day hospital. He used to have skin GVHD of 3rd degree, but now the situation
has improved considerably. The central catheter has been removed and now
Evgeniy receives all medication in pills. Unfortunately, the problem with
intestines appeared - it might be due to intestinal GVHD, so he needs to
undergo the necessary testing. Besides, Evgeniy started coughing again, even
though lung aspergillosis was not confirmed during the last computer
tomography (a month ago); testing at Institute of Invasive Mycoses will
likely be required.
Evgeniy and his mother Galina Anatolievna asked to
express the words of great gratitude to Olga Semenovna Uspensky, the
treating doctor of Evgenii, Sergei Nikolayevich Bondarenko, the head of the
department, and all nurses, donors and volunteers, who help Evgeniy fight
his illness.
