Hello!
My son Dima Yablochkov became a student of St. Petersburg's University
together with his brother Valera, with whom they are just a year
apart in age.
Unfortunately, in November 2008, a disaster struck: after a month-long
testing, Dima was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma. In
December 2008 he started chemotherapy at St. Petersburg's State
Medical University. Due to effects of chemotherapy, Dima developed
fungal infection and he needs long-term therapy with an expensive
drug, Vfend.
Dima completed treatment with Cytosar and Methotrexate, and he still
has a long and difficult battle with his disease ahead. I, a college
teacher, had to leave my job.
Dima's brother Valera, a university student, studies, and works and
helps our family with food and medications. My son's father does not
live with us and does not pay alimony.
We will be grateful for help with Dima's treatment, so hat he can
return to his college student friends as soon as possible.

Update as of August 26, 2009.
Dima completed re-induction (another course of chemotherapy). He is
scheduled for CT scan for next week. Dima feels well.
Update as of September 8, 2009.
Based on CT scan, Dima has positive dynamic in regards to his main
illness (noted no enlarged lymph nodes), as well as to aspergillosis.
Dima continues planned testing. Afterwards, he will be on supporting
therapy.
Update as of September 25, 2009.
Based on CT scan results, Dima is doing well. He is planned to undergo
PET imaging as well. Dima continues Orungal therapy.
Update as of January 27, 2010.
Dima is continuing his studies at the university. He feels well. Dima
comes to State Medical University for tests and maintenance therapy.
Update as of July 14, 2010.
On July 8th Dima had tests: lumbar puncture and CT scan.
Based on the test results, he is in remission. He is now at dacha,
and he takes Methotrexate and Purinethol, and Hepa-Merz
for liver support.
Update as of December 12, 2011.
From October 2008 to 2010 Dima underwent 2-year long treatment course.
The disease retreated. Dmitry finished 4th year of college with a degree
in economics and got his driving license. He participated in roller rally
and sky dived twice.
But in November 2011 he had a relapse. Currently, Dima is hospitalized
at R. Gorbacheva Pediatric Hematology & Transplantation Institute where
he is undergoing anti-relapse chemotherapy.
