Hello everyone who cares for my daughter's destiny!
I am a mother of Dinara Samigullina from Kazan. In October 2002,
when she was just 2.5 years old, Dinarochka received a terrifying
diagnosis, acute lymphoblastic leukemia. A long and difficult treatment
with chemotherapy and radiation produced only a temporary result.
Then Dinara's disease began progressing again. On February 3, 2009, the
second relapse of her disease occurred. She can now be saved only by
undergoing bone marrow transplantation from an unrelated donor, as none of
the family members matched as a donor.
The search for the donor at the international registry and delivery of
donated material cost 17,500 Euros. Our family will not be able to raise
this much money, particularly in a short time we have.
Please help us raise the money, as we cannot cope without you! Thank you
for your consideration and participation in our lives.

Update as of November 8, 2009.
On behalf of my whole family, I would like to thank all those people
who demonstrated their support for our daughter Dinara. We are
enoromously grateful to a deputy and Presidential Reception head in
Tatarstan, Vassily Loginov, and Tatarstan Health Minister,
Airat Farrakhov.
Thanks to them, Tatarstan budget issued 15,000 euros for the search
for unrelated donor for my daughter Dinara.
I would like to wish them great health, family happiness and success
in everything.
These Tatarstan public servants showed us their kindness. We hope
that their desire to help others will set an example for their collegues
in other regions of Russia.

Update as of December 4, 2009.
A donor for Dinara was found!
Dina and I were invited to come for a consultation, during
which transplantation date will be determined. I am hoping
that in a week we will be able to collect all the documents
so that, God willing, we will come to St. Petersburg
on December 15th.

Update as of December 30, 2009.
Dina and I are already home in Kazan. Dina is doing well,
and the test results show complete remission. On
December 25th her own stem cells were collected. Transplantation was
scheduled for January 28th. On January 11th we should arrive to the
clinic. We are hoping we will be able to finish all the necessary
tests and get required documentation in time. We now only need to
solve the issue with lodging in St. Petersburg.
We are wishing everyone great health, happy family life, good luck and
success in everything! May all your wishes come true in the New Year!

Update as of March 7, 2010.
Dina is in 37th day post-transplantation. Fortunately, she has no
serious issues. The only problem is she has a difficulty walking as
her legs ache. She also needs to be on a strict diet.
We live in a rented apartment and twice a week go to the clinic for
tests. We are grateful to Advita fund for their help and support.
We would not have been able to cope with this without you.
Dinara's mom
Update as of March 14, 2010.
Dinara is recovering after transplantation and receiving immunosuppressive
therapy. She feels rather well.
Update as of March 23, 2010.
Dina was prescribed hormonal therapy to
control skin GVHD, and she now has much less of a rash and itching. Her
legs ache and she has a hard time going up the stairs. To get her to feel
better we give her injections of Ubichinon. Dina is on a strict diet.
Yesterday she turned 10. She was upset that she could not eat anything that
she like, and a cake in particular. The young ladies from Ioann
Kronshtadtsky church parish saved the day. Katya and Masha came to our
apartment with a load of presents and entertained our children the whole
evening.
We are very grateful to them for that! The celebration was great! We would
like to thank Advita fund for paying for our apartment. Thank you very
much!
Dinara's mom
Update as of May 4, 2010.
Today is Dina's 95th day post-transplant. The puncture results
showed complete engraftment of donor's bone marrow. I am very scared of
something going wrong. It has not been very long and Dina is still on
immunosuppressive therapy. Gradually, Dinara will be taken off of it,
and hopefully there will not be any problems afterwards. For now,
cytomegalovirus reactivated in Dina's blood due to lower immunity.
We are very grateful to AdVita fund supporters for paying for Intraglobin
and Valcyte for Dinara. These medications are too expensive for us,
and we would not be able to purchase them. Thank you for your support!
We do need your help all the time. I cannot express my gratitude in words.
I am starting to write, and I cry: these are tears of happiness for
my daughter and for other kids whom you have helped and continue helping.
Dinara's mom
Update as of June 16, 2010.
Today we are returning to Kazan. Dina will be allowed to stay at home
for 1.5 months. She is doing well, feels well and has donor's chimerism.
We are still feeling uneasy, as this is just a start of our long road
to recovery. It has only been 4 months since the transplant. But we know
that everything will be well.
I'd like to thank AdVita fund and all our supporters for their help
and support. Without you, it would have been very difficult to overcome
all these challenges. When we came here, it was a strange and far away
city to us, and now it is a city that feels very close to our hearts.
We wish health, happiness and success to everyone. Hope you always
have good luck. Wishing all the kids to get well soon and stay well.
Dinara's mom
Update as of July 30, 2010.
It has been six months since transplantation. Dina feels well. Her test
results are not so good: platelets are low, but for now she does not need
a transfusion. The heat may be at fault in part: it is incredibly hot here.
Once a week we go for control tests. Dina also has some issues with her
mouth and GVHD of mucous tissues is suspected, but we try to keep it
in check. I called transplantologists regarding proper therapy, and
Dina was prescribed a mouth wash with Dexamethasone suspension.
She is now better.
We will travel to St. Petersburg for control tests after August 10th.
We are enormously grateful to all our supporters and AdVita fund for
emotional and financial support.
We will appreciate your help at this time too.
Dinara's mom
Update as of September 7, 2010.
Dinara came for control tests in St. Petersburg. She has some complications
after transplantation, but they do not require specific therapy. Dinara is in remission
in regards to her primary diagnosis. She already returned home with her mom, and the
next round of control tests is scheduled in 4 months.
Update as of September 22, 2010.
Dina's liver counts increased, and transaminase jumped to 900.
Liver protecting drugs are not helping, and the doctors suspect
GVHD in liver. We had a consultation with transplantologists and
they recommended Dina to restart immunosuppressive therapy with
Cyclosporine and Metipred starting today.
Dina feels relatively well. She is concerned about missing school.
We are now at the hospital under monitoring of our hematologist.
We know that Dina will get back to normal soon.
Dinara's mom
Update as of November 13, 2010.
Dina and I will come to St. Petersburg for control tests on November 21.
She feels well and continues taking Cyclosporine. We are gradually lowering
the hormonal therapy doses. However, Diana still has GVHD of mucous
tissues. Her liver counts are going down slowly. Further treatment
will be discussed in St. Petersburg.
Dinara's mom

Dina feels well. She still has mild GVHD of mucous tissues and skin.
Diana takes Cyclosporine and is scheduled for control tests

well as staff and patients of R. Gorbacheva Clinic! Hope all the bad
stays in the past, and all your wishes and dreams will
come true in 2011!
