Hello!
I am asking for help because this is the only possibility to save my
daughter. Dasha is 10. She is in the third grade and she has good grades.
Dasha is a kind, joyous girl. She is very social and has many friends. Dasha
loves animals, especially her cat Barsik. Her dream is to learn to ride a
horse. Dasha really enjoys active sports (ice skating, rollerblading, and
biking), but with every passing day she has more difficulty with movement,
gets tired quicker, and even during a walk she gets fatigued as her hemoglobin
count decreases.
Back when Dasha was still in kindergarten, she was taken to a hospital due
to food poisoning and the doctors found that her platelet count was low. This
is when it all started: constant drops of blood counts and transfers from one
hospital to another. The disease started progressing, and Dasha's hemoglobin
count started to go down. Finally, she was diagnosed with Fanconi anemia.
Lately, Dasha had to be taken to the hospital more and more often for the supporting
blood transfusions. She underwent another examination in St. Petersburg. It showed
that bone marrow transplantation is the only chance to save Dasha's life. We
need to start searching for the donor at the international bone marrow donor
registry, as Dasha does not have any matching related donors.
The treatment and search for the bone marrow donor will require a large amount
of money: 15,000 Euros for the donor search and collection of cells for
transplantation, and additional 2,500 Euros for the delivery of transplant
by courier. By myself, unfortunately, I am unable to raise this much money
because I am a single mother. My hopes rest on you, those people who can feel
the pain of my small family.
Thank you very much in advance for finding opportunity to help Dasha.
Ekaterina Nekozyreva.

Update as of June 30, 2009.
Matching cord blood was found for Dasha at one of Moscow's blood banks.
The search for unrelated donor will not take place.
Update as of October 1, 2009.
Unfortunately, cord blood transplant turned out to be impossible,
as the two blood samples that were located were not a good match to
each other, and a single sample would not be sufficient due to low
cell count. It was decided to initiate the donor search for Dasha
at the International registry, even though the preliminary search
yielded few potential matching donors. .
Update as of November 9, 2009.
The donor search for Dasha was paid in full by one of the
companies from Khanty-Mansiysk. We now need to raise 2,500 euros
for the delivery of transplant.
Update as of December 16, 2009.
The donor search and delivery of transplant were paid for in full.
I would like to express my enormous gratitude to all our supporters
and everyone who took part in saving my daughter!
Thank you very much for your help!
Wishing you great health and all the best!

Update as of July 27, 2010.
Dasha is monitored as an outpatient. Twice a week she goes for tests
to the clinic. Her leukocytes are little low, but this is due to
decrease in the hormonal therapy doses. Overall, Dasha feels well.
We try to go out more, read and draw together. The doctors already
lifted many dietary restrictions. Dasha cannot wait to start eating
fresh vegetables and fruits. We are very grateful to the fund for
buying medications for Dasha!
