Hello!
Our son Dima had a serious infectious disease, Flexner's dysentery – 3A, when
he was six months old. He recovered and all was well. He was growing up very
smart and social boy.
On September 1, 2007 Dima started elementary, but in October he was hospitalized
with sinus infection. After several days of therapy he was doing better and was
being prepared for discharge, when his temperature rose suddenly. Dima was transferred
to the infectious disease unit, and the blood test showed large amounts of leukocytes
in his blood. He was urgently transferred to hematology unit of Regional Children's
hospital, where he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.
Dima is currently undergoing the fourth chemotherapy block and he has one more block
to go. After the chemotherapy, he will need bone marrow transplantation for complete
cure from his disease.
We also have an older daughter Victoria. This year she will graduate from high school.
Unfortunately, she did not match as a donor for Dima.
At this time, I am the only one working in our family. I earn 30,000 rubles. We have
enough money to make the first installment of 3,000 euros to the international registry.
Please help us pay for the bone marrow donor search at the international registry
(15,000 euros) and delivery of transplant to St. Petersburg (additional 2,500 euros).
