Hello!
I am asking for help for the kindest young man in the world, our son Alexander
Sheligan. When he was 18, he got sick with a terrible disease, acute leukemia.
Alexander is a 2nd year student at Chita State University. From the time he
was a kid, he was active in sports, gymnastics and wrestling. He studied well
and even completed a course at Information Technology College in parallel with
high school. After he enrolled into college, he was active in union work.
Alexander is a very kind and responsive person, and even at the hospital
everyone loves him.
Unfortunately, his remission only lasted 8 months. Alexander had a recurrence
of his disease and he needs bone marrow transplantation, based on recommendation
of the specialists from Raisa Gorbacheva Institute for Pediatric Hematology &
Transplantology. The operation requires an unrelated donor (Alexander's sister
did not match as a donor), the search for whom is very expensive. For us,
state employees, this amount is out of reach.
We would like to ask everyone to help us save our son!

and he is receiving therapy with antibiotics. He still needs Vfend as well.
After the course of treatment and control CT scan, he is planned to receive

ventilation in intensive care unit.

his own, and feels better. To continue his therapy, Sasha urgently
needs Cancidas (14 bottles, for the cost of 200,000 rubles) and
Tazobactam (a course costs 1,000 euros).
Update as of October 26, 2009.
Sasha's condition is improving gradually, and infiltrate is clearing from
his lungs. Sasha still needs Cancidas and Pulmozyme.
For now, Sasha cannot get up due to difficulty breathing, but he does
physical therapy, uses Internet for staying in touch and wants to overcome
all difficulties.
Update as of November 13, 2009.
Sasha's condition improved markedly, and he is already walking along the
hospital hallways. In the near future he may be allowed to travel home,
and in that case he will need to bring Vfend along, at least 2-3 packages.
His lungs are in much better state. Sasha is in remission in regards to
leukemia.
Update as of November 19, 2009.
Sasha feels well! His lungs are clear, but the lungs have scar tissue
and it causes fibrosis and shortness of breath. The fewer scars he has,
the better he can breathe.
On November 22nd we will travel home. Three months later we will return
for the scheduled tests. Sasha still needs antifungal therapy with Vfend
(200 mg twice a day).
