Hello,
My name is Igor Korol. I am a father of a two-year-old Anechka.
Since January 1, 2010 she has been on treatment at Petrov Oncology Institute.
She was diagnosed with medulloblastoma of cerebellum in posterior cranial fossa.
Anya underwent two surgeries to remove the tumor. She is now receiving chemotherapy:
we spend a week at the hospital and rest for two weeks at home.
My wife Elena is a citizen of Ukraine. She is always at the hospital with our daughter
and she cannot work. I am from Vladivostok originally and here I can only find temporary jobs.
At times, I have to take my wife's place at the hospital. We rent an apartment in St. Petersburg
for 8,000 rubles. Please help us with paying apartment rent.
Update as of October 30, 2010.
Anechka finished a cycle of chemotherapy with Etoposide.
She feels well. On November 8th she will start the next cycle.
Update as of November 24, 2010.
After another cycle of chemotherapy, Anya got sick with flu.
She is undergoing therapy at home.
A few more chemotherapy cycles are planned.
Update as of January 31, 2011.
Due to acute respiratory infection, a scheduled cycle of chemotherapy
had to be postponed. After the third cycle, radiation therapy is planned.
Anya started to stand and she can even take 2-3 steps.

Update as of February 15, 2011.
Unfortunately, Anya is sick again. On February 9th we were allowed to go home.
Chemotherapy was postponed until she recovers. Anya walks with support and is
really happy when she can make a few steps by herself.

Update as of March 9, 2011.
Anechka had severe flu and we even had to call the ambulance.
Unfortunately, she still has issue with runny nose and cannot restart
therapy at Oncology Research Institute.
Update as of April 12, 2011.
On March 16th Anechka was admitted to Oncology
Research Institute. The same day she was transferred to Pediatric regional
hospital where she had surgery, as her shunt broke.
She tolerated surgery well and recovered in three weeks. Anya is now
continuing therapy at Oncology Research Institute and underwent another
cycle of chemotherapy. Anya's mom is hoping that they will be able to go
home soon.
Update as of June 21, 2011.
On June 14th Anya started another chemotherapy cycle. MRI was postponed
until the end of June. Anechka feels well, and while she is afraid to
walk by herself, she likes to walk up the stairs with support.

Update as of August 24, 2011.
Anya completed another chemotherapy cycle and she will have control MRI.
Anechka feels well and started walking - without much confidence yet,
but by herself, which makes us very happy.

Update as of February 6, 2012.
Anya was done with the basic chemotherapy course back in November and then
had a 2-weeks' radiation therapy course at the Radiology Institute in Moscow
(30 sessions for the head and 24 for the back altogether). She did fine during
the treatment course itself but back at home she had a complication: otopyosis.
Anya had to spend two weeks at the Regional Hospital with a very high fever in
spite of antibiotics. 10 days ago the girl was finally discharged but she will
be administered treatment at home too. Anya is very weak, but she did have a
birthday party last Saturday, with guests and a cake! The girl turned 4. She
really wants to spend time with other kids because she does not get to very often.
Anya would love to go to kindergarten with other children. At present she has a
pre-school teacher visit her, they do classes. The teacher thinks that Anya is a
very smart girl, and the only thing in which she needs to catch up with other kids
of her age is the speech, but that is doable.
