Albina was born on July 31, 2002. She is a very quiet and curious girl. When
she was five, she learned alphabet by herself and really wanted to start
school. In September 2008, she did start 1st grade, but in February she got
sick. She began having fever, stomachaches and fatigue and lost her appetite.
We are from Volgograd region, so we took Albina to a clinic in Volgograd where
she was diagnosed with leukemia. We learned that there is R. Gorbacheva Institute
of Pediatric Hematology and Transplantology in St. Petersburg. So we took Albina
to this clinic to verify the diagnosis. Unfortunately, it was confirmed that
Albina has acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She now needs to undergo chemotherapy.
Please help us with paying for rented apartment and expensive medications.
Update as of January 24, 2010.
Albina is continuing therapy under the protocol. She is now
receiving another cycle of chemotherapy. She feels well.
Update as of March 3, 2010.

returned home and is now undergoing maintenance therapy locally.

Unfortunately, control tests found relapse. Albina was
hospitalized at R. Gorbacheva Pediatric Hematology & Transplantation
Institute for anti-relapse chemotherapy cycle.
Update as of January 7, 2012.
Albina is undergoing the 4th cycle of anti-relapse chemotherapy
under the schedule. She feels rather well and her temperature is normal.
However, she is very tired of treatment. A donor search was paid for,
but a donor was not yet found.
